Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint opens the month of August by presenting the fourth installment of their ‘Re:Imagined' series. With the inaugural edition landing in February of 2020, these Various Artists EP showcases take a look back over the label's catalog, presenting new interpretations from some of the freshest talent in the underground. Not bound by genre or style, the first three installments in the series earned praise for their contemporary blend of organic, progressive and deep house sounds. Now presenting the fourth installment in the series, Sound Avenue invites GMJ, Jayden Klight, Mundos Sutis, Yudi Watanabe and Ric Niels to re-interpret tracks by Beije, Joe Miller, Pedro Capelossi, Madloch and Eric Lune.

Rounding out the release with the lone interpretation of Eric Lune's ‘Embers' is Ric Niels who returns to the label for his second appearance. Hailing from Argentina, Ric has enjoyed a steady rise since first emerging just over two years ago. His progressive sound has been a delight for both clubbers and headphone aficionado's alike, while the genre's premiere tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J have championed his work along the way. Similarly, top tier labels such as Clubsonica, Deepwibe Underground, Mango Alley and The Soundgarden have served as landing spots for Ric's transcendent sound. Having made his Sound Avenue debut with a contribution to the label's popular ‘Correlation' series in April, Ric now returns for his first remix, taking ‘Embers' into deeper organic territory. Pitched somewhere comfortably between dreamy reverie and melodic bliss, it's a piece equally at home above an outdoor dance floor or sitting in the emotional sweet spot of an end of the night scenario. Captivating and poignant in equal measure, it caps off an excellent fourth installment of Sound Avenue's ‘Re:Imagined', a series which continues to delight and impress fans across the electronic spectrum.

The latest release from Tash's Movement Limited welcomes Kris Dur to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Mexico, Kris Dur has been a fixture of his country's nightlife for the better part of two decades. As a DJ first, Kris has been honing his skills at some of Mexico's trendiest venues, oftentimes blurring the lines between progressive, organic and melodic house. Also a producer, the Mexico City resident emerged in 2022 with a contribution to 3rd Avenue's popular 'We Are the Future' series, before going on to record projects for Freegrant Music, The Soundgarden and his own Join The Culture imprint, in turn earning support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Nicolas Rada and Marcelo Vasami. No stranger to the Movement family, Kris would make his Movement Recordings debut last year alongside Chilean producer Tomas Pablo, as the duo delivered a standout remix of 'The Jungle' by Taylan. Now, making his much anticipated debut on Movement's Limited division, Kris delivers a two-track showcase entitled 'Proud Harmony'.

Beginning with the title selection Kris finds a perfect balance between groove and melody. Complete with deep and melancholic vibes, the Mexico City resident crafts an engaging top line to flutter and shift atop a sturdy foundation of punchy kick drums and voluptuous basslines. Fragmented vocals and dubbed out chord stabs further the track's rhythmic inflection, eventually giving way to a finale of mesmerizing melodic progression.

Rounding out the release are the smooth hypnotic qualities of 'Copal'. Warm, spacious and flowing with a freeform sense, the track's first movement is built around a chunky groove, spacey synth mutations and precise percussive arrangements, the latter of which carries a hip-swinging energy into the main break. Kris' creative attitude shines across the interlude, with gentle melodies creating a sense of space and calm, as percussion reassembles towards a dynamic drum fill and suitably groovy finale to cap off the EP in style.
