Years of Denial is the alter-face of French musician/DJ/producer Jerome Tcherneyan and Czech performance artist/DJ Barkosina Hanusova. With the use of hardware combined with vocals and a plethora of dub devices, YOD are re-visiting the dark corner of post punk, Industrial music movement and rave culture. 

Both influenced by Isolationism, they also perform improvised cinematic ambient sets with the use of modular synths and processed vocals. They draw upon the darker and profound stimulus of experimental music, creating an immersive and dramatic imaginative space.

The Forgotten CXLVI: Years Of Denial

Next Episode of Abaddon Podcast with Barkosina

Barkosina's main influence comes from the Czech underground scene where she grew up. Arriving to UK and staging obscure performance art events RUN, she also hosted three years regular radio show "Contradictions” where she experimented with post-punk, electronic synthpunk and techno. 

Her Dj sets oscillate in between Ambient noise from crepuscular drones to syncopated rhythms, Industrial EBM and from bottom of her heart heavy bass, kicks and vocals. Her mixes evoke stories, their titles are cautionary. These sets/scenarios attempt to explore a complexity of emotions, as in life, its never the same…
As the half of YOD, Barkosina is blending poetry, dark romanticism, corners of Post-Punk, Industrial music movement and rave culture. YOD has released music on Death & Leisure, Khemia, Veyl Records, She lost Kontrol and more to come…..

Barkosina has been performing and playing in venues across London and Europe sharing the stage with the likes of Orphx, In Aeternam Vale, I Hate Models, Schwefelgelb, HUREN, Samuel Kerridge, Codex Empire, Halv Drom, Silent Servant, Alessandro Adriani, Broken English Club, Morah and many more.

This is my second liveset. I have done it in the covid-'holiday'-time in April 2020. I had so much time for playing with my kids, making music and watching TV :D
It is all done with a Octatrack, a Novation Drumstation, a Novation A-Station, an Elektron Analog Drive, a Korg Monologue and a Roland VT-3. ....it goes all through a Mackie mixer and an Alesis Smashup compressor.

So I think, that there will be no other videocut from my livesets in the future. It looks so easy, when you watch such videos, but is sooooooooo hard to produce them!
