NYC-based producer, DJ and label-head Farren Laen delivers the next installment of the art:cast series or a conglomeration of (own) productions paired with pieces that complement and enhance the set's tone and vibe. Hitting the dark dance spot the New Yorker builds up his set like typical old red brick buildings in the city: stone after stone resulting in a memory lane of the future. Just like in his own music Farren Laen comes up with a vibe that is short of becoming possessive luring one into its atmospheric vortex as the space-out sequences almost have a meditative touch, while latter is left behind shortly before dancers/ listeners drift away in their very own thought bubbles and Farren presses the "House kick-drum" to continue his cat-and-mouse game, a game he seemingly not only plays well but has perfected. Otherwise it's hard to explain how someone can come up with such a beauty of sound-waves within only 67 minutes.

WE FORFEIT are back, fresh after the Summer heat waves. And we’ve got a gem from June in Valencia where a very special night took place. 

With a glut of djing talent, WE FORFEIT inaugurated their first night with their good friend Nico aka @neudphoto. With releases on @bordelloaparigi, @mysidian, @pinkmanrecords, and @dearsoil, Nico has an impressive back catalogue. In Killing Time the U.S. born synth artist delivered an incredible live set, one that we have recordings of for this first of the season. 

Opening the two hour session is a young Dj whose heart lies in the golden age of techno. Nahuel got the night going with a cracking set of classic artificial intelligence style electronics. Classics packed!

Robbie’s up next with a slice of his two hour set. Tracks include E.R.P., @egyptianlover, @lucalozano, and lots more.

Moody tones begin Chris’ mix, brighter hues coming as Valencia Bacalao gems sparkle in the muggy Valencia night.

Our headliner, Neud Photo finishes the evening’s entertainment. We’ve brought you 45 minutes of his intense live jam session. Crossing the boundaries of acid, electro, new beat and synth, Nico delivers a session that had bodies sweating and limbs flailing on the Killing Time dancefloor.

How is the mix reflecting your current music taste?
I always try to record mixes with a large variety of genres, so this mix moves from zouk and afro to italo and more classic disco. Still, I can go through some periods where I focus more on a genre, which is the case here with Zouk and Freestyle (latin / synth-pop genre from the late 80s).
