Here, you’ll find raw music, stripped-back grooves, and selections that speak honestly to who I am. This series is my way of sharing my niche, the most underground side of my taste.

In this episode, founding residents Meaney and Artro takeover - playing some deep, dubby minimal. The set is characterised by its use of dub-driven bass parts, sibilant hi-hats, and mesmerising vocal loops. We chose to play at a slower tempo, as it allows greater experimentation with aural textures, mood, and percussive elements.

The microminimal takeover (Episode 2) w/ Meaney & Artro (Threads*RONCESVALLES) - 13-Aug-19

Today’s episode introduces microminimal’s Bucharest-based resident Dexu’. To celebrate his roots, both mixes feature Romanian artists or labels. Meaney opens the show with an hour infusing DJ-ing and live sampling on Maschine, followed by Dexu’ spinning his own unreleased productions alongside some of his favourite artists.

The microminimal takeover (Episode 3) w/ Meaney & Dexu' (Threads*RONCESVALLES VILLAGE) - 28-Aug-19

This mix is a particularly special one to me, put together during a significant part of my life, having combined a large span of the more deep, poignant and powerful tracks that I’ve been inspired by lately. The past years of my development as a selector have involved me truly finding a voice, taking inspiration from others who have defined what it really means to be unique in their sound and artistic intentions. Within the spirit of this two hour mix is a healthy mix of deep house, techno and ambient; a dedication to the many eye-opening and exhilarating moments I’m grateful to have found myself within on the dance-floor.

The microminimal takeover (Episode 5) w/ parting(Threads*RONCESVALLES)

This week’s episode features Boston based Bruno Limma by way of Araranguá, Brazil, with releases on Mentha Records, Little Helpers, Mind&Vision, and Sudd Records. Bruno Limma is a dear friend of mine whom I met when I was living and coming up in the Boston electronic scene. A longtime veteran of both rocking the DJ booth and working minimal tracks in the studio, I’ve learned a ton and have been inspired by him and his sound, faith and work ethic. It’s a great pleasure to have him as a guest on the first hour out of this week’s microminimal episode. This week he digs nice and deep into his crates to bring us a slappin’ vinyl only set. By fate, he also closes his set off with a song off the legendary Perlon label, coincidentally the same one I play first in my hour. Episode 7 airs October 22, which falls on Bruno’s birthday. To this, we at microminimal wish him all the best and continued success!

The microminimal takeover (Episode 7) w/ parting & Bruno Limma (Threads*NORTH YORK)

After been jamming and recording with hardware at the studio, I got a chance to explore different currents of sound with a more esoterical feeling. Meaningful messages as a rite on the vocals while starting the first hour with some broken grooves and overdubbed soundscapes. The second hour explores space, tempo and time with some unusual structures and rhythms around acid, minimal and breaking with electro.

Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Journey Series!

It all started with a mixtape!
In the 80’s schNee was born in the suburbs of Berlin, and as a young girl she moved through this vibrant city exploring different music styles through concerts - as she got older she started finding herself in the Berlin clubs; dancing, feeling, enjoying, and opening up to the electronic music.

It turns out that a simple mixtape was to be the beginning of an adventurous career for the young schNee. After making a mixtape, for her car, of all her favorite electronic tracks - a sudden realization hit her - her passion in life was to become a DJ and learn the ways of music. She promptly bought turntables, a mixer, and started her vinyl collection. Thus, a DJ was born.

schNee is all about the musical experience and that is evident through her sound. Her mixes are full of emotional range, with deep melodies and lots of bass to the upbeat ‘feel the sun on your face’ beats - she truly wants you to feel and be enveloped in the music like she herself is. She oozes of diversity, playing anything from house to techno. In particularly she draws inspiration from the likes of James Holden, Nathan Fake, Max Cooper, Extrawelt, Nicolas Jaar, and Stimming - just to mention a few.

schNee has been on a roll ever since her first gig in Hamburg in early 2013. Following some releases and remixes on ‘Der Turnbeutel’ and ‘Triebjagd’ she has been rocking the floors at some of Berlin’s hottest clubs. Sisyphos, MenschMeier, About Blank, Ritter Butzke, Keller, and Rummelsbucht have all welcomed her to the DJ stand, from which she has filled the floor with marvelous tunes. Most notably, at Crack Bellmer where she has hosted her own club night. Her has spread music even further, as she has been playing gigs all over Europe, including Switzerland and The Netherlands.

Her music is not only limited to the club - as she has also played at several festivals like; Captainsrave, Monis Rache, Zug der Liebe, Zurück zu den Wurzeln, Chateau Melon d’Eau, and Dockville.
When she isn’t busy filling the world’s dance floors with remarkable tunes, she is hanging out with her space buddies and astronauts at the Cosmic Society label, where she is currently signed.
