Kicking off 2025 for the 14th mix in our MINIMALISM series we introduce Tur vinyl boss, Poly. She has kindly provided us with 2.5 hours from her set at Signal Festival in Russia last year.

Poly has been on our radar for a while now which we feel is an artist that deeply represents our sound. Based in Saint-Petersburg, Poly is a resident for Moscow based Haze and Mizar, playing regularly at the clubs there. She has shared line ups with artists such as Cezar, Dubtil, Cally and Andrei Ciubuc.

Known for her dark and hypnotic selections, which rolls so smoothly throughout. We’ll let the music do the talking on this one 😊

Whilst preparing two synthesis-driven live house/minimal albums (scheduled for live recording on October 18), microminimal records co-founder Meaney found himself drawn into a parallel sonic world: the sample-based realms of Ambient Jungle, Atmospheric Drum & Bass, and Minimal Breakbeats.

Built on the same soulful warmth and hypnotic pulse of Deep House but propelled by the swing of breakbeats, these genres laid much of the groundwork for contemporary electronic music. 

Visionaries such as A Guy Called Gerald and LTJ Bukem took the sound to global prominence, while innovators like Soichi Terada brought it to the iconic soundtracks of Japan’s early 1990s video games.

This 30-minute mini-mix documents Meaney’s live exploration of those sounds - the driving heart of a Roland TR-707, mangled and filtered breakbeats, low-end textures from the Roland MC-707, and a palette of samples ran through analog processing.

The result is a one-take, unrepeatable journey—an homage to the protean energy of 90s electronic music.
