A true outlier entity, even in the oddity-rich landscape of avantgarde music, Geinoh Yamashirogumi are a Japan based musical collective, consisting of – at many points in their existence – hundreds of members, many of whom are non-musicians: lawyers, business people, teachers, journalists and students and many others have taken part. 

Their musical direction, spearheaded by founder Shoji Yamashiro, is an all-encompassing exploration of world folk and traditional music, especially focussing on non-western scales, and digital re-interpretation of manual instruments.

Sainte Marina is a transdisciplinary artist of Lebanese origin based in Paris. At the invitation of Le Transfo, a cultural center of Emmaüs Solidarité located in an emergency shelter in the 10th arrondissement, she composed a set that offers a personal entry point to the exhibition "C’est un dur métier que l’exil" by Afghan photojournalist Abdul Saboor and Turkish visual artist Nil Yalter.

ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀʀᴛɪꜱᴛ

Sainte Marina is French-born and Paris-based Lebanese artist, distorting reality through her approach of djing. She layers sounds ranging from dark ambient to polyrythmic noise, including industrial and ritualistic music, sprinkled with rap references. Her sets are build as liquid narratives haunted by voices taken from samples of political archives, poetry and mystical chants. Inspired by the use of sounds for healing, she navigates a wide range of emotions and rythms, sparking intensity through combining melodious sounds with industrial ones. She played across Europe in a variety of settings such as nightclubs, art spaces, festivals and livestream radios, always creating a mystical experience that breaks the boundary between a live set and dj set. She is a resident at Hong Kong Community Radio (HKCR) with her ‘Phantasmagoria’ show and has released tracks on independant labels Etang Brulant (FR/LB) and Caninal (FR).

Spurred on by the acuteness of current global events, we are raising our voices in solidarity with the oppressed, the tortured, the silenced, and the unheard. While humanity is at stake, and our values are on trial, in moments of despair, rage and endless grief, acts of solidarity are needed more than ever. The events that shake Palestine and Israel are resulting in an ever-tighter spiral of violence and desperation. They are a horrific wake-up call that brutally brings the precarious situation on our planet to the fore. The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, and Israel’s collective punishment of Palestinian civilians are intolerable. On top of that, the military actions threaten the lives of the remaining hostages in the Gaza-Strip, and even more innocent people in Gaza.

EPISODE IX ‘LUCID DREAMS’
A red door at the end of a long, dark corridor. I know you are there, waiting for me. This time,
I am going to reach you.
But putting one step in front of the other is a nauseous struggle, my feet stuck in mud, my
arms tied to my body. Using all my strength, I lean forward, but the door does not get any
closer.
I know I am dreaming. Of course. Because you are there. You are always there when I
dream, waiting for me behind the corner. And yet, I can never reach you.
The train, from whose window you stare at me, closes its doors and rushes too fast toward
the unknown, an unknown impenetrable to me.
The tower from which you let your hair fall is separated by a bottomless chasm from the
broken bridge where I stand.
The fun you are having in a crowded bar is too noisy, the people who keep stepping into my
path are too drunk and ugly, and you do not, cannot, hear my screaming voice until I lose
you between their laughter and the throbbing glasses in their hands.
Nightmarish clichés I have been living through, sleep after sleep, nap after nap: restless,
delirious, and now finally lucid.
This time, I want to make it. I want to change this reality, I want the corridor to become
shorter. And it does. I want my hand to move, to reach the handle. And it does. I force the
heavy door to open. I make it light. I have prepared so hard to make this happen.

Sitting on the only chair at the center of a wide stage I enter from the wings, you are there
offering your face to the empty audience and your back to me.
I scream your name with a silent voice. You do not turn. I walk toward you, putting so much
effort and intention into it that the space bends. Extending my hand toward your shoulder, I
can fool myself into believing the softness of your sweater under my fingers is heartwarming.
Finally, a sense of sweet tenderness fills the void in my chest. My struggle has finally borne
fruit, I have you beside me, under my hand. I have reached you.
An infinite pause before
millimeter by millimeter
you turn toward me.
And in my heart, a crack as wide as a birthing cervix opens at the sight.
Empty.
