My Everything

J'ai écrit cette chanson en hommage à l'un de mes meilleurs amis emporté par un cancer l'année dernière. Il n'avait même pas 50 ans. C'était un ami comme vous en rencontrez bien peu dans une vie. Un poto, un grand frère, un confident, un larron en foire, quelqu'un qui ne laissait personne indifférent... et forcément qui laisse une trace indélébile dans le coeur de ceux qui ont la chance de l'avoir connu. Et finalement, je crois que c'est ça "Le Meilleur de Toi" : c'est un hommage à sa grande générosité, à tout ces petits et grands bonheurs qu'il a semés un peu partout et à tous ces merveilleux souvenirs que nous avons de lui. Quel plus beau cadeau pouvait-il nous faire?

I wrote this song in tribute to one of my best friends who was taken by cancer last year. He wasn't even 50 years old. He was a friend like few you meet in a lifetime. A buddy, an elder brother, a confidant, a jester, someone who left no one indifferent... and inevitably leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. And ultimately, I believe that's what 'Le Meilleur de Toi' is about—it's a tribute to his great generosity, to all those little and big joys he scattered everywhere, and to all those wonderful memories we have of him. What greater gift could he have given us?
