Exclusive first play of 2 tracks from the first major release out of the Country Hi-fi yard. Kindly broadcast by Mr. Rodigan on his 1Xtra show on Sunday 12th February, after I gave him a copy following his incredible set in Belfast.

The EP features Asante Amen on vocals, James Atashroo (from ska band Jungle Lion, and also the Renegade Brass Band), Delaypilot (an up-and-coming dub producer from Switzerland) on bass and rhythm guitar, and myself playing everything else as well as producing/arranging the tracks.

It will be available on all major online music retailers as of 3rd February so make sure and get yourself a copy and show some support to the Country Hi-fi sound; you can preview it on Amazon right now so stop by and have a listen and I will be uploading the full tracks through the week so keep an ear out for them too.

Title track from the brand new EP (released 3rd February 2014) brought to you by Country Hi-fi. Bringing together musicians and artists from the UK (England and Northern Ireland), Jamaica, and Switzerland to capture an authentic roots reggae vibe. 

Giving an incredible vocal performance we have Asante Amen from Jamaica; on horns James Atashroo (of Jungle Lion, and the Renegade Brass Band) who delivered a real authentic sound; Delaypilot (from Switzerland) on bass and rhythm guitar adding a proper rub-dub feel; and myself [Country Hi-fi] on guitar, keys, drums, and organ.

Almost a year in the making, the EP has been a real labour of love and is my attempt, as a non-Jamaican, to capture an authentic reggae sound from back in the day and deliver a genuine tribute to the music I am passionate about. My music is also driven by a desire to unite people and spread a positive message of ONE LOVE & UNITY to as many people as possible.

The EP has been put together, funded, and released totally independently, and has even been played on BBC Radio 1Xtra by David Rodigan (which was a real honour and arguably the best endorsement I could possibly get). All that being said, I would be grateful for any feedback and make sure you get yourself a copy of the EP, available from all major retailers on Monday 3rd February 2014. Vk and LL both have roots that stretch through the Sierra Nevada's, from the Lake and back to the Biggest little Valley.  After the success of their remix of "Know me Now" off of the critically acclaimed album "QUITSleep", they decided to take a crack at Vokab's newest album (a collaborative effort with Crush Effect) entitled VKCE.  'Back to the Past', as seen in the 'KIA Optima' commercials featuring Blake Griffin time traveling to 2006, is proud to take on a new face of funk, bearing the insignia of 'Love and LIght'.
