A dear friend of the festival, whose musical craftsmanship leaves us in awe every time. In June, he guided the Above Below audience through dusk, with a blissful live set, a welcomed embrace, as we prepared for one final night of dancing.   

Hame has gifted us a number of warm, deep, unreleased tracks in this new mix, and we can all share excitement for their release throughout the course of 2024.

Vlada (@playvlada) has been playing all over the globe since just 18 years of age. Russia-born but Berlin-based for many years now, her sound is defined by a long, winding mixing style and is built on hypnotic basslines that slowly but surely zone you out. 

That very much comes out in this week's mix which initially locks you into a signature meditative pace but then builds with smart gear shifts and technical mixes. There are acid flashes to liven things up, bright synths spiraling around electrifying techno, broken beats to keep things moving then more stark industrial and metallic textures that place you at the heart of a strobe-lit and floor. It is another masterful mix full of must-find tunes from this ever more essential selector.

Giegling co-founder DJ Dustin drops in The Bunker’s biweekly techno showcase, live from our NYC studio.

What is Giegling? You may know them as a label, and a very good one at that – they’ve been Resident Advisor’s label of the year twice. But like everything else Giegling does, releasing records feels like less of the endgame than a way of channeling a very particular feeling, one the collective first hit upon with a series of perfectly magical parties thrown in a former student bar in Weimar, Germany. Their latest endeavor is Planet Giegling, a tour that will take them through 18 cities around the world and showcase the project as a truly multidiscriplinary endeavor – seated concerts, installations and exhibitions are scheduled alongside club nights featuring the likes of Konstantin, DJ Dustin, Ateq, Vril, Leafar Legov and more. As Planet Giegling swings through New York, Dustin – a masterful DJ and Giegling co-founder – pays a visit to our studios for a DJ set and interview with The Bunker’s Bryan Kasenic, potentially with a few surprises in tow.

The wait is over as we finally have a new release ready by one of the originators of Icelandic techno. It’s been a while, but worth the wait - as he delivers a straight-shooter, destined to find place in the record bags of all serious djs for years to come.

The EP consists of four dub-influenced techno tracks – each one exploring the depths of sonic and emotional landscapes. Some might even say glacial and atmospheric, yet perfect for a late night spin at the clubs. 			

Thule Records is considered by many to be a pioneers in the field of dub-influenced techno music and was a starting point for many of Iceland‘s most renowned electronic musicians
