Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg deliver something a little different with their next collaboration, ‘You Know’.  Unlike their recent Drumcode release, ‘You Know’ is a deep house killer that will appeal to new and old fans alike. Using a number of melodies within both the bass line and melodic synth that sits at the back of the mix, these two elements harmonise together smoothly and create an ear catching juxtaposition that will get the dance floor rocking before the vocal roars over the track.

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn’t fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label’s established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode’s multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional.

With her trademark shock of untamed dark hair, the Nigeria-born artist can be spotted in a DJ booth by profile alone, rocking crowds before she even drops a record. In-demand all over the world, Moudaber has played everything from intimate after-hours clubs; to revered nightclub institutions like Space, DC-10, Output and Stereo; to massive festival stages, including Glastonbury, Electric Daisy Carnival and Coachella. She’s also been featured by the New York Times, CNN and Billboard.

Nicole follows up her 2015 release on Truesoul with ‘Your Love Picks Me Up’, a 2 track EP featuring a remix from in-form producer Marco Faraone. Kicking off with Nicole’s original, the vocal hook teases itself in and is guaranteed to get stuck in your head. Expect to this one sung back at you on any dance floor. Marco Faraone is one of techno’s fastest rising stars as his remix is a prime example of why, putting his sinister twist on the track with pounding drums and sharp piano stabs. Nicole Moudaber – Your Love Picks Me Up – Truesoul – TRUE1292

Tale Of Us present a new collaboration with Vaal for the sixth release on their Afterlife label. Three years after they teamed up for ‘Concur’ and began to tour together, the trio return with their most anthemic offering yet. Vaal’s hauntingly-beautiful and instantly-recognisable vocals are the centre-piece on ‘Monument’, building on the style of her Wander To Hell EP (AL002). The drums and shimmering synth lines are moody and uplifting in the way Tale Of Us have made their own, arranged perfectly for the psychedelic breakthrough.

On the flip side, ‘The Hangar’ takes a different approach to equally devastating effect. It pumps with added urgency and a thunderous, steely bassline lunges out from the low-end. Designed for large soundsystems and big rooms, ‘The Hangar’ finds Tale Of Us and Vaal at their most direct and it’s something to behold.

Barnt and Stephan Bodzin, two artists whose stand-out performances at recent Afterlife events have made them firm favourites with the crowds, are tapped for the remixes (AL007). They both take on ‘Monument’, Barnt opting for a rolling, percussive direction and Bodzin more ethereal and transportive.

Tale Of Us & Vaal - The Hangar

This latest Intec release is one such example of Carl Cox discovering a fresh new artist that he wants to showcase and present to the world. With two original tracks this new release is from Scottish producer Luca De-Santo who joins the Intec family following previous releases on labels including Krannit, 18-09 and Black Square Recordings. Luca De-Santo based in Glasgow, is also a DJ who plays regularly at numerous nights in his home city. Alongside local gigs, he also boasts international booking at events such as Portugals BPM Festival. Track one Reach Me is lead by a pounding kick drum and starts with thundering percussion which packs a serious punch. Stabbing pads lift the mood and the female vocal phrases give it a warehouse feel, while subtle bursts of white-noise are used to build tension. Fast and furious, this relentless techno workout is full throttle from the first beat. Requiem is the deeper of the two tracks with warm textured pads that hold a gentle euphoria, which sit in stark contrast to the hard hitting backing drop on which they are layered. Fusing raw energy and poignant emotion with an outcome thats firmly focused at the dancefloor, this is masterfully crafted techno with a truly timeless sound.

Adam Beyer took a liking to UK talent Boxia after meeting him in 2016, making his full EP release debut on Drumcode simply a "long time coming" sort of thing.
