Richmond-based veteran DJ Aakmael was born to a trombonist father and a singer mother, which inevitably led him grow up in a jazz-and-funk-led environment. At the age of 16, he got his start behind the decks, playing everything from hip-hop and RnB to jazz and reggae at house parties and school jams, before getting into house thanks to Inner City's huge tune 'Big Fun'. On a mission to steadily educate the ears of his audience, he could have easily been part of those Founding Fathers of House who have devoted their life to producing and curating some of the best house vibes to date. Aak is mainly known for producing underground hard-hitting deep and raw house, assuredly filled with a touch of melancholy and nostalgia. Today, he no longer has anything to prove as his track record is as long as your arm; he first started to release records in the early 2000s on top dance labels like Note Grooves or Axe on Wax, before creating his own imprint UnXpozd Entertainment. Besides, he has been regularly gracing worldwide dance floors such as ://about:blank (Berlin), Fáklya Klub (Budapest) or Output (NY) alongside house geniuses including Patrice Scott or Kai Alcé.

Living up to his reputation, Aak has been extremely picky when putting his tracks together for this mix in order to uphold his standards. Today, he is delivering mellow but serious house grooves from Demuir, Local Options or Satoshi Tomiie. This could definitely be your new summer chill soundtrack!
