The summer in Amsterdam will again be sprawling with festivals. A steady name in the season is Buiten Westen, which promises to be another fine get together of thrill seekers, hot artists, festival cuisine and carnivalesque attractions. At the Next Monday's Hangover stage we can expect a range of great modernistic deep house artists. One of them is NMH's very own Ridzert, aka Some Chemistry. His colourful and melodic style of playing will be a welcome escape from some of the louder sounds present at the festival.

The scary-talented duo of Aurelien Boizeau and Anthony Dos Anjos makes up Loge21, a producer act from Dijon, France that specializes in the deep and future house sounds. With a recent track being signed to Cr2 Underground in “Famous” and support from numerous prominent media outlets like EdmTunes, YourEdm, and TheEDMNetwork, Loge 21 is back with a smooth release that is sure to put them on the map. 

Most likely categorized as “Deep-House”, this tune is funky, it’s fresh, and Loge21 have absolutely put together an absolutely stunner in “So High,” which is set to be released on November 17th, 2014. History in the making, today's Debut sees a coming together of various dance music legends: house and hip hop's pioneering innovator DJ Fast Eddie's collaboration with voice of the eighties CeCe Peniston, getting remixed by none other than Border Patrol (comprised of our Chi v D showcase's delight Chuck Daniels and Canada's own Jason Hodges).  This remix, forthcoming on Chuck's own Sampled Detroit imprint, breathes new life into the well versed sound of elevated and elated house music. Chicago and Detroit coming together via DC and Canada, with the utmost conviction – as is expected when it's from four key progenitors of feel-good dance music.

Finally, i had the time to whip up the 10th edition of the IN 30 mix series. I have been on the road quite a bit lately, and most recently, linked up with Howie Lee and played our debut DTW showcase in Taipei. It's been real connecting with the Do Hits crew, and we are strengthening the ties in the Asian region.
There has been tremendous growth with DTW, and it's inspiring to see more and more like-minded folks coming together and creating in unison.

The latest mix kicked off with a heavy dose of house cuts before travelling across to the beat territories. So kick back, take out the cans and I hope you enjoy the selections. Also, IN 30 will soon be streaming out of a certain platform in NYC, but more of that later. :)

It all started digital and melted into a highly respected vinyl label: since 2008 Hivern Discs spreads unique sounds out of the heart of Barcelona. In the beginning the label that was co-founded by producer and DJ John Talabot, was linked to the sample-heavy, disco and pop affected house, that Talabot and his Madrid based buddy Pional produced at the end of the last decade. Furthermore techno and minimal are part of the early output, as well as synthesised psychedelia and electronica of all colours. All wrapped in hand stamped or one-off designed covers that have been outlined by their in-house designer Arnau Pi. While in the beginning Hivern Discs featured mostly Spanish artists, the roster opened around 2013 and features today in demand artists from all around the globe like Roman Flügel, Man Power, Red Axes, INIT, Marvin & Guy or Dorisburg. Just shortly after the Catalan imprint launched a new sub-label called HVNX, Hivern Discs founder John Talabot and label A&R Daniel Baughman selected some of their favourite tracks on the label’s catalogue as well as some forthcoming music and never-to-be-released material for a Carhartt WIP Radio show and Daniel Baughman mixed it all down in the Hivern way.
