Journeyman are a new production duo from London. Formed at the end of 2012 they moved straight into the spotlight with their killer remix of Drum & Bass anthem Carry Me On by Brookes Brothers feat. Chrom3, earning them specialist support from the likes of B.Traits and Andy Durrant.

Journeyman are now set to make their full artist debut on NewState Music, with the release of double a-side single: Get Closer / Sideways.

Kicking off proceedings is ‘Get Closer’, an immersive slice of future house music, featuring the sultry vocals of Claudia Georgette. This classy track fuses some of their influences, which range from soul and jazz to classical, resulting in this top-notch production.

Sideways is a weightier house workout that heads straight to the club. This banger features further trademark bleeps, cut up chanting vocals, and one of the best basslines you’ll hear this year!

Both tracks come with radio, club, and instrumental mixes.

Formed by a combination of an old friendship and a passion for music, the duo took their production name from the old boxing term ‘Journeyman’.

Under various guises, Journeyman have already achieved success in other electronic genres, racking up playlist support on Radio 1 & 1Xtra and playing to masses of fans at festivals, and clubs all over the globe.

This level of musical experience and maturity is highlighted and reflected in the Journeyman sound: it has warmth, depth, and does damage on the dancefloor.

This debut release is set to be a future classic, with the enigmatic Journeyman poised to become one of the most exciting new forces in the house music scene.

With a hectic worldwide touring schedule and the completion of their debut Flying Circus Ibiza residency @ Sankeys, studio time was scarce for the boys.  In the few weeks they had back home in Barcelona, Anthony and Luca put their heart and soul into the creation of the Excuse My Wilderness EP. A process that took over 6 months to complete. "I made this track when exploring a slightly darker side of my music on a rainy evening over winter. I wanted to do something slightly different from my usual stuff. I made most of the track out of recording household objects. I set some mics up in my kitchen to record lots of the percussion sounds for example. The idea was I wanted it to have a metallic and industrial sound with loads of reverb like it's being played out in an empty warehouse..."

“I Don’t Know Where” - The intro catches listeners from the first note, making you lean in to hear more from small sounds teasing through a steady drum beat that deepens as it charges forward. We are then taken into some strange, new territory here, with sound effects that sound like steel slicing through the air and beats that are never predictable. Tandem is not the goal here, more of a partnership of different beats that only add to a successful and very repeatable track.
