Having spent the last 4 years plying his trade down in Exeter, former manager of Nu-Tropics HAMMO has now turned his sights to the big leagues of London. A resident on Hackney-based station Subtle Radio, James hold’s dearly a wide selection of genres in the dance music universe. Always on the hunt for the next weird sound he can fall in love with, he has a serious drive to push leftfield music with his label Vief, which he launched in May this year. Alongside the music, James intends to use Vief as a platform to advocate for social justice, a reflection of how deep-rooted his care for the way world operates is. For his mix for Brick Sweat, James wanted to use this opportunity to run through a selection of tunes from the faster end of his library. Comprising mostly jungle tracks (with some of his favourite vinyl finally getting a play), he still manages a way to include some A.G. Cook and Jessy Lanza in his hour. Aly-Us - Follow Me - The Frankie Bones remix

In April 2019 we took a trip to Tokyo to capture the sounds of the transport, markets, instruments, machines and public places. We did the same back in London and created a sample bank for each city. We reached out to underground Tokyo producers who we consider to be some of the best up-and-coming producers in the city. 

Each producer used sample sounds from the opposite city from our recordings. The result is a collaboration between two underground scenes through music creation and samples from opposite sides of the world. A massive thank you to everyone involved.
