The Self I Keep Alive is dedicated to Brieze Montiero, whose passing reminds us how fragile the line can be between surviving and slipping away.

This album is not about blame. It is about what happens in the silence after everything falls apart. It is about men who feel invisible, unheard, or painted into corners they never built. It is about love turning to weight, and learning to hold that weight without breaking under it.

I wrote this record to rebuild myself and to say what Brieze, and so many others, could not find words for. Every track carries that truth, from the cracks in the mix to the breaths left in between.

The Self I Keep Alive is a striking statement of endurance; a blend of emotional realism and sonic precision. Across seven tracks, JR8CH folds cinematic electronics, alt-pop nuance, and raw lyrical honesty into a body of work about healing in real time.

Every lyric feels journaled, every frequency deliberate. From the storm-lit tension of “Let The Walls Burn” to the slow resilience of “Just Wait Until Tomorrow,” the album studies vulnerability as a strength, not a weakness.

Produced, mixed, and mastered by JR8CH, this record bridges underground intimacy and professional clarity. It is not about redemption, but about accuracy, self-possession, and growth through adversity.
