TAYLOR MCFERRIN – DECISIONS (FT. EMILY KING)
Taylor McFerrin’s album ‘Easrly Riser' was released in June ’14 and has been the soundtrack to my weeks ever since; Its beautiful. The beats, the melodies- everything about it is on point for me. Taylor McFerrin + Emily King = ♡ 

KING – THE STORY
KING is made up of 3 women from LA who have a deep understanding of vocals + vocal arrangement which is hugely important to me. I’ve been going back to this song for 3 years now, but can’t keep away.  When the sun is out, this song is on in my headphones.

NAO – SO GOOD (FT A.K. PAUL)
Nao’s an amazing woman on and off stage. She released this song a few weeks back and its been on repeat ever since. 

LITTLE DRAGON – PARIS
‘Paris' gets me out of bed in the morning. Little Dragon always seem to get it spot on. Their newest album ‘Nabuma Rubberband’ was my favourite body of work of the year. I find it really hard to listen to the songs separately to the album as it works so beautifully together, as a whole. 

MOVEMENT – LIKE LUST
Definitely one of my favourite bands of 2014, made up of 3 x guys from Australia. I saw them play in London in November and they blew me away- one of the best gigs I’ve seen in a long time. The drop in ‘Like Lust’ gets me going every time.

DORNIK – SOMETHING ABOUT YOU
Dornik is such a talent. He’s got that huge American r’n’b sound thats often really hard to find in British music. Michael Jackson would have danced all night to this song. That says it all, really. 

BOBBY CALDWELL – WHAT YOU WONT DO FOR LOVE
I think Bobby Caldwell has become one of my favourite ever artists after my bass player introduced me to him en route to a festival. I’ll always remember that day now- it’s such a perfect feeling discovering someone so special.  ‘What you won’t do, you do for love’.

TYPESUN – THE PL
This song has been an ongoing favourite over the past 2 years. It reminds me of my fella. 

MIGUEL – KALEIDOSCOPE DREAM
Miguel’s album ‘Kaleidoscope dream’ was the soundtrack to my snowboarding holiday in January with my fam. You have got to have the right song to throw yourself down a mountain to…this was it. 

GURU – PLENTY
This song has made me smile thousands of times over the last 14 years. I never get sick of it & always seem to find something else in it with every listen. It reminds me of my mum and my sister. 

IBEYI – RIVER
Ibeyi is a French/ Cuban duo, consisting of 2 female twins. I heard ‘River' on Gilles Petersons show a few months back and it stopped me in my tracks. 

MACHINES – ON THIS SPOT
Machines are fronted by the drummer in my band, Caragh Campbell, and made up of some of the best jazz + electronic musicians in LDN. They do electronic music so well, and along with Caraghs beautiful voice, it never fails to hit the right spot for me. 

PYGMEES AKA – MOBANDI: MO BOMA (BERCEUSE)
This song has to be one of my favourite pieces of music i’ve ever come across. The Aka Pygmies are one of the three groups of Pygmies inhabiting the Central African Republic & their complex polyphonic singing sends shivers down my spine, every time, without fail.

Last week's show was definitely one of my favorites to date. It's weird how things work. It's the shows that I feel most unprepared for that end up doing well... maybe it's because I just really freestyle and go off of my whole library of music rather than trying to curate a specific vibe. It was hard to top last week's show but I did my best to really take it right back to the early beat era from 2008-2012 and played some current gems as well. I hope you enjoy this. I'll be back next week with a guest maybe.
