"Vocatio Abrahae" (The Calling of Abraham) is a two-hour symphonic odyssey, divided into 12 main parts (plus optional postlude), designed for performance or sectional listening. Inspired by the Romantic tradition of programmatic music, it follows the biblical patriarch Abraham as a metaphor for radical faith — leaving home, journeying through trials, receiving divine promises, interceding for others, and ultimately facing the supreme test at Mount Moriah.

The work begins with a brooding Call in Ur, grows into the restless Journey, expands in wonder under the Starry Promise, and erupts into conflict in the War of Kings. A solemn Covenant passage anchors the symphony in sacred ritual, before turning toward the playful Hospitality at Mamre and the tragic shadows of Sodom’s Cry.

The final two sections, The Ascent to Moriah and The Sacrifice of Isaac, are the emotional and spiritual summit of the symphony: an immense meditation on obedience, anguish, and redemption. Here, motifs from earlier movements return, transformed into radiant light as the angel intervenes and the promise of faith is fulfilled.

The Postlude closes the journey with a gentle pastoral benediction, leaving the listener in peace after the storm.

Thất huyền cầm hay cổ cầm là một nhạc cụ cổ truyền có 7 dây thuộc họ đàn tam thập lục, đây là một trong những nhạc cụ lâu đời nhất, gắn liền với lịch sử nền văn minh 5000 năm của Trung Hoa, và cũng là một trong những nhạc cụ hay nhất của nhân loại.
Ban đầu đàn có tên là Dao Cầm, gồm 5 dây: Cung – Thương – Dốc – Chủy – Vũ đại diện cho ngũ hành: kim mộc thủy hỏa thổ. Vào khoảng 1.000 TCN, cổ nhân thêm vào chiếc đàn hai dây Văn – Võ, nên còn gọi là Thất huyền cầm (tức đàn 7 dây). Ngày nay, dây đàn lụa trước đây cũng được thay thế bằng dây thép mảnh.
Với hơn 1.000 kỹ thuật ngón tay khác nhau, Thất huyền cầm là một trong những nhạc cụ khó học nhất trên thế giới. Loại đàn này đòi hỏi sự phó xuất rất lớn từ người học để có thể làm chủ nó. Các tay được sử dụng với kỹ thuật tuốt, thu, trượt, đẩy, và rung dây đàn để tạo ra một loạt các âm thanh, từ dòng nước chảy, tiếng lá rơi, tiếng gió thổi… với đủ các sắc thái vô cùng đa dạng.
