A Newark, NJ native, Tia was born with a larger than life voice, nurtured from the tender age of five, singing in her grandmother’s Baptist church. She honed her skills performing on the gospel circuit in various choirs, eventually crossing over to sing and perfect all genres of music. Thanks to her unique ability to blend various elements of pop, gospel, jazz and soul, Tia’s soulful stylings have earned her lofty comparisons to such powerhouses as the Queen Aretha herself, Cece Winans, Patti Labelle and Fantasia – all of whom she is a diehard fan.

Tia meshes a gut busting bass with a booming alto and, unsurprisingly, can soprano soar with the best of them. A vocal power house not seen nor heard in a very long time, Tia uniquely mixes and blends her tone to taste and the recipe is truly intoxicating.

Nationally, Tia has performed at the annual Lincoln Park Music festival opening for the legendary Clark sisters and graced the stage at the world-famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem, opening for gospel greats Kim Burrell and J. Moss. She’s toured with and been the lead background vocalist for Tony nominated recording artist Elisabeth Withers and received a special invitation from 107.5FM, WBLS, to perform at their 75th Anniversary Harlem Summer Stage concert. Europe is no stranger to her talent as she has toured Northern Italy singing with the Harlem Messengers and will return for a solo tour in the summer.

A powerful and multifaceted talent and the uncanny ability to weave her soul into lyrics both guarantee that Tia will be a force to be reckoned with for decades to come.
