Dare 16 - Under the Shadow

My first ever sound compilation. It also happens to be an entry for Freesound's 16th Dare (Halloween theme), because that's where I got the idea to create it :)  In summary, it's a dark tale of death and damnation. At her time of death, a woman is forced to recall key moments of the life she lived - and there are consequences. This was so much fun to create!

Dare 16 - Be afraid, be ver

Made for Freesound Dare-16 by AlienXXX and Snapper4298

Anthony O'hara is a mad scientist. He has a lifelong pursuit to build a machine that will solve the world energy crisis by tapping into the energy of hidden dimensions.
Anthony designed and built the machine himself over several years, based on his own counter-mainstream particle physics theories, some ancient scrolls which showed 'machines of the Gods' that according to legend could spit out rays and other forms of energy... and a strange recurring dream...

The day comes when Anthony switches on his machine. But after a few seconds it blows the power on the whole street and Anthony is showered with sparks. He writes off the experiment as a complete failure and goes back to the drawing board.

Not long after, strange things start to happen...

Digging a grave for a girl he had been holding hostage, goes down into the cellar he is holding her and kills her, drags her up to bury her... kind of a simple concept I suppose!

This was made in audacity and a lot of the sounds, mostly the children sound effects were given a lot of delay and gverb which made it sound more haunting then childish.
