Quickie from us: "HOLY SHIT, FINALLY THIS FUCKING SONG IS OUT... This song was meant to be an Edit to promote a show we had at LIV in december. Initially we had Disclosure's 'Fire Starts to Burn' over the track and thought the drop was way to hot to use someone else's vocal. So we had this ridiculous idea to create a song around the concept of the #SELFIE. We really weren't sure if this was the most brilliant idea, or worst idea we ever had... So we had our home girl Alexis come over and within an hour we had 2 verses and the song done. At that point in time we thought it was hilarious but we were quite sure how it would be received, but seeing as we aren't pussbags and music is about experimenting and having fun, we put it out. 2 days later the song had 200k plays and about 1% negative feedback. So we went to Dim Mak who we always loved as a label and asked them if they were interested in it, if we went back in added a new verse and changed the drops. 6 Weeks later here we are, with an amazing Music Video compiled with all this great submitted #Selfies from Fans, Friends, DJS and Celebs. So we hope you all enjoy the tune as much as we did putting this whole project together. This is our first EVER Original release and it would mean the world to us if you all bought the song, shared the video and took #SELFIE video... ”

Powerful diversity. From Aruna’s jazzy and minimal title track to ‘In My Mind’ (featuring Karim Youssef & May Hassan), the scope of this record is unimaginable. Kedr on growing up in Russia and the influence that had on her music: 
"Of course the big problem was perpetual drunkenness—people would drink themselves to death. I was born on October 4, 1990. It was a very interesting but critical time for Russia—a time of great change. The Soviet Union was no more, and old values were anathematized because of the reconstruction.

In my early teens no one seemed to understand me in this world (I thought), so I read Washington Irving novels and listened to The Cure. At around 20 years old I felt a real need to find myself, so I entered the directing department of the Moscow School of New Cinema. At the same time, electronic music fascinated me completely.

A small circle of my friends formed around a mutual interest in music. We always went to concerts together, of which were mostly international artists: Inga Copeland, DJ Spinn and DJ Rashad, Legowelt, Death Grips, Florian Kupfer, Dean Blunt, etc. It wasn’t long until we organized the community and DIY record label known as John’s Kingdom. It’s not only about music; it’s also a channel for art, videos and lifestyle. Now it’s the most alive and honest thing in Moscow.

My music is strongly inspired by Autechre, Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada, but with the lyrics and mood of Mazzy Star. I admire contemporaries Inga Copeland and Laurel Halo, however, my songs are more pop-leaning because of the powerful influence MTV had on my adolescence."

Sunny Lax presents his brand new "Maono EP" on the Songbird imprint, featuring the titles "Maono", "Miele" and a brand new Aero 21 Remix of his 2011 single "Something Is Broken".

Sunny Lax, real name Levente Marton, was born in Hungary on August 6, 1986 and debuted with the famous “P.U.M.A. / Cassiopeia” EP as his debut release on Anjunabeats in 2005. Marton followed this up with the 12” single entitled “M.I.R.A.”, featuring a remix by Daniel Kandi. Later on, Sunny delivered the single “Blue Bird” and he has been releasing tracks consistently from that moment on. Sunny Lax is also part of the Black Hole artist roster and last year he presented his first EP on the Songbird imprint with the titles "Viva La Revolución" and the original version of "Something Is Broken". His "Maono EP" is the long awaited follow up to this beauty.

With "Maono" and "Miele", Sunny Lax drops two massive progressive tracks that both feature a spacious arrangement and a carefully composed, lengthy break. The melody lines subtly refer to a classic Balearic sound, turning both cuts into the perfect tracks for a daytime progressive set. The Aero 21 remix of "Something Is Broken" revisits the original version with an attractive, newly produced backing track on the Mediterranean tip. Superb return of Sunny Lax.
