As a Chicagoan, @Jacob-Meehan broadcast signals from behind the console at WLUW 88.7FM, behind the counter at Gramaphone Records, behind the decks at Smart Bar, and behind the scenes as a co-founder of the Men's Room parties. Berlin-based since 2016, he's the program director and a resident DJ of @radio-buttons & an organizing member of  WHOLE - United Queer Festival.

Coincidentally traveling to the US for some gigs at the end of February 2020, Meehan found himself back in Illinois for the following 18 moths, this set was recorded at the Mizz Softee party in Brooklyn, NY before his return to Berlin.

He also co-hosts the excellent @Nightshade_FM radio show, broadcasting live on Cape Cod Community Radio stations WOMR / WFMR.

The 5th instalment in Graded podcast series comes from London's @otikmusic.
His track "Actress" opened INTGRD004 and now follows it up with the "Wetlands EP" which is out now - https://smarturl.it/INTGRD005. With releases on Keysound and 17 steps he's been turning heads and he's part of a new generation of producers continuing and pushing the lineage of UK hardcore, Bass and Weightless sounds. 

He has turned in a killer mix for us that represents where he is at both as a dj and producer right now, it keeps revealing things with every listen. This one is heavy. Listen / enjoy / share /dance / cook / wash hands to this one and then get him down to your party.

On Leap Day 2020, my friends at @apte threw what would end up being one of the last underground parties in Seattle before pandemic lockdown. Max thought the recordings from that night had been lost. But magically, exactly one year later, he messaged me with the recording of my set. 

Listening back brings obvious feelings of intense nostalgia for a time where we could all dance together into the early hours of the morning. This was also the first party I've ever played where the cops showed up; the bass from our sound system had set off some alarms in a neighboring building. We didn't get busted, but poor Cam had to play the beginning of his set at a whisper volume until we were sure the coast was clear. 

I miss the excitement and anxiety that comes with directing the mood of a party. The rush you feel when two tracks fit perfectly together, and even the moments when a mix is slightly off or the track you picked falls a bit flat for the room. You take risks and make adjustments on the fly. 

For those who were there that night (and anyone else who cares to listen), I hope this set evokes the same mix of tears and joy that it has for me.
