Žygimantas Dzikevičius aka @zygzyl5, half of @e506 hails from the urban district of Pašilaičiai in Vilnius, Lithuania. Since embarking on his musical journey in 2007, Žygimantas has been deeply influenced by the raw energy of old-school rave, breakbeat, and techno. His early work focused on crafting dubstep and jungle tracks, earning him spots as a dj at various underground parties and open-air events in Lithuania. In late 2019, he adopted the alias 5ZYL, a name that quickly garnered attention in electro/breakbeat scene.

On one side, the retro-futuristic elegance of Commuter, nourished by the first vibrations of electro and a fascination for Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode. These two distinct trajectories converge on the split EP signed to Rennes-based label Ethos Records, due out on 27 June.

The project features four tracks, two from each artist, highlighting singular interpretations of electro: Commuter delivers pieces where sharp melodies and impeccable rhythms dialogue with new wave and EBM influences. EKATA, for her part, takes us on an immersive sonic journey, driven by abyssal bass and eerie synths.
