Strange Times

Traditional Japanese song for children in Kyoto. I heard that it has been sung and passed down through generations since the Edo period (1600-1868).

This song is a cover by me.

丸竹夷 (Song of the street names of the Kyoto)

Children traditionally sing this when they sell charms called “Omamori”, candles, and Chimaki at the Kyoto Gion Festival in Japan. Children chant short songs to attract customers for the “Omamori” they sell.

i wanted to write a song today and this is what i came up with!!
it is pretty basic but i think that's fine.
in an ideal world i would have spent a bit more time on the main piano melody.
the song took 7 hours but i also work at a pretty leisurely pace.
anyway, hope you like it too!!
