Abhishek Chanda, revered as Synths Back, is a DJ and electronic music producer whose origins lie in the secluded Andaman Islands. Synths Back is an alchemist of sound, deftly blending the nostalgic resonance of vintage synthesizers, the pulsating allure of Italo Disco, and the primordial cadence of Afro-inspired rhythms into a singular auditory experience that defies the limitations of genre.
The year 2018 heralded a transformative epoch in Synths sonic journey with the release of his seminal single, "Luna." This composition was a sonic odyssey that crystallized his artistic vision and unveiled a unique auditory lexicon to the world. "Luna" serves as a celestial map, guiding listeners through a cosmos where analog warmth meets the kinetic energy of dance floors, and ancient rhythms coalesce with the digital future.
In 2021, Synths achieved a significant breakthrough with the release of his downtempo EP, Kioku, on the esteemed Krunk Kulture label. This work resonated deeply within the electronic music community, garnering critical acclaim from influential publications such as Mixmag, Rolling Stone, and Official Humans of Music. The EP not only amplified his visibility but also firmly established his presence as a formidable force within the contemporary music scene.
Beyond the confines of the studio, Synths has brought his sonic vision to life on stage at prominent events, including India Cocktail Week in 2022 and Gin Sling in 2020. Abhishek is deeply committed not only to refining his own artistic voice but also to fostering the next generation of musical talent. His dedication to teaching aspiring DJs and producers is driven by a desire to impart the cultural and aesthetic intricacies of his unique musical style, ensuring that his legacy endures through those he mentors.
Synths Back journey is further enriched by the diverse array of artists with whom he has shared the stage. His collaborations and performances alongside luminaries such as Jitwam (The Jazz Diaries & ROYA), Horse Meat Disco (Z Records), Henry Wu, Maribou State, LIFAFA, Mo Black, FDVM, Chancha Via Circuito (ZZK Records), Thee J Johanz (Ballyhoo Records), Pablo Valentino (MCDE & Faces Records), and French Toast, among others, highlight the eclectic influences that have shaped his sonic narrative. Long warm summer nights are back, even here in Belgium, and we all know there's no better way to soundtrack them than by pressing play on some sun kissed disco. Well, guess what... you're in luck as Andrew Armstrong's new collaboration as Daddy Squad with celebrated French chanteuse Corine is almost as sun kissed and as disco as you could want. Almost, that is. Whilst the original positively pulsates with an ecstatic joie de vivre, there was still room there to give it a little bit more of a sunset backdropped roof party vibe. Enter Athenian producer and long-time Eskimo affiliate NTEIBINT, someone who knows more than a thing or two about creating cool music for hot nights.
