I'm just a self-taught musician and piano player who tries to express his mind and thoughts through the black and white keys.

Welcome friends!
Hope you find something you like here. I sing and play some guitar, piano, bass and drums (do not record my own drums due to lack of fitting recording environment-unfortunately). You'll find some collaborations with other SC artists too. I have a job in a totally different field (cardiology). I am not into AI generated music.
Let's keep this place peaceful, respectful and honest (like any place should be kept)!

All Piano, Keyboards, Percussion, Drums, Bass and Guitar performed by myself.

I also love recording my own soundscapes and all photos used are taken by myself unless otherwise credited.

No AI used in the making of the music or art. I like to create something from nothing myself, its a joy.

With piano, strings, understated electronics, and expressive vocals, I craft soundscapes that move you and leave space for your own thoughts.

Every piece is handcrafted: I write, arrange, and produce using professional virtual instruments and real elements.
I work with Spitfire Audio, Virharmonic, Kirk Hunter Studios, Native Instruments, EastWest, and 8Dio, combined with my own recording and sound-design workflow.

I use voice synthesis (ACE Studio) only in rare cases—specifically when no suitable singer can be found.
Whenever synthesis is used, I state it clearly in the track description.
It’s a subtle color, never a substitute for composition or expression, and always within a framework I fully compose myself.

The creative vision, the musical structure, and the emotion are 100% mine.
I believe in music that sounds real—because it is real.

My name is Alexandru Ciobanu Al Rufei, and I am a Concert Pianist, Composer, Songwriter, and Ballet Piano Accompanist. As a classically trained pianist with a Bachelor in Arts/Piano Performance and over 15+ years of teaching experience, I am thrilled to share my musical journey with you.

Here’s a glimpse into my musical achievements:

	•	2001 – Third Place, International Piano Competition “PRO-PIANO-ROMANIA”

	•	1997 – First Place, International Piano Competition, Brasov, Romania; Recital, Marcelino Botin Foundation, Santander, Spain
	•	1996 – First Place, International Piano Competition, Agropoli, Italy; Awarded the Eugen Barbu Prize

An amateur music composer. Born in the early 70's at a time of emerging rich electronica music.

A love of synths and synth music developed from a very early age. 

An eclectic taste in music. I am a lover of Sigur Ros, Olafur Arnold’s, Apparate, Modrate, Johan Johannsson and Jean Michel Jarre to name a few of my favourites. Not forgetting the likes of synth-pop legends like Howard Jones, Nick Kershaw and AHA.

Spending time at my keyboard learning has been a liberation for me.

I now spend my time playing live (solo and in bands) and writing music. All of my music is inspired by my experiences in life, good, bad, tense, happy & sad.
