Morning by the Sea

When the morning dawns over the sea before the sun rises
before the moon has calmed down
the newly awakened bridesmaids have turned their beaks
against the wind coming from the west

There are many small insects under the sand and they wake up

När morgonen gryr över havet innan solen gått upp
innan månen har lagt sig till ro
de nyvakna tärnorna har vänt sin näbb
emot vinden som kommer ifrån väst
de hoppas att allt kan förbli som det är
med vindarna som för hit dofter från ett fjärran hav

Det finns många små kryp under sanden och de vaknar upp
när solen börjar värma allting upp
och de börjar sin vandring mot bränningar och svall
för att finna lite mat som flyter fram

Vad skymtar bakom buskar och dyner - en liten man som vill
