Mit der großen Disco-Welle Ende der 70er-Jahre änderten sich auch hierzulande die musikalischen Vorlieben der Hörerschaft. Die Disco-Musik spiegelte Freiheit, Ausgelassenheit und ein neues urbanes Lebensgefühl wider, das vor allem bei jüngeren Menschen gut ankam. Da der Schlager schon immer darauf abzielte, populäre Musikströmungen aufzugreifen und massentauglich zu machen, passte er sich schnell an, um das Interesse dieses neuen Publikums nicht zu verlieren. Neben einigen "Deutschen Originalaufnahmen" entstanden so auch neue Hits, die zwar noch für den Schlager typische Melodien und Texte hatten, aber einen klaren Disco-Einfluss im Rhythmus und Arrangement zeigten.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. This can be applied to our music policy, tilting the vertical axis resulting in a sharp area of focus without reducing the depth of field. The selective focus that can be achieved by both tilting and shifting movements, It's compelling because the effect is different from that which you may have become accustomed to. This movement is often used to avoid the convergence of parallel lines, or as we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur.
