Eric Stark touched down in Australia 8 years ago, bringing with him over a decade's worth of European electronic music and industry knowledge. Originally from the sun-soaked landscapes of the south of France, his musical journey really began to unfold in the vibrant city of Paris, where he had the chance to play at some of the city nightlife’s institutions such as Rex Club, Batofar, Djoon… The Parisian nightlife scene became a great source of inspiration and education to the underground scene for him. Making the move from France to London in 2009, he made waves in the city that shaped rave culture in the Northern Hemisphere. Performing sets at electronic music institutions including Fabric, The EGG, Mode and The Qube Project, he was also booked to perform at Glastonbury and Kazantip- two festivals that pull some of the biggest acts globally.

Dance floor-focused, Eric Stark feeds off the crowd and delivers all that they want whilst taking them on his artistic journey. You’ll find home on the dance floor for this set! Navigating the vast spectrum of electronic music, Eric Stark's sets seamlessly fuse the sounds that shaped his upbringing and those that resonate with his heart. Spanning Disco to Electro, infused with hints of Italo, Synth wave, electronica, and a subtle touch of new wave/post-punk, his music exudes the unmistakable energy of 80s electronic influences Eric also runs his own SUPERNATURE parties with his partner Ruby as well as being the music programmer at boutique festival MOTION, producing his own music and curating selectors for various other projects and venues including the "Weekend Selector" at Terror Twilight in Collingwood.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. This can be applied to our music policy, tilting the vertical axis resulting in a sharp area of focus without reducing the depth of field. The selective focus that can be achieved by both tilting and shifting movements, It's compelling because the effect is different from that which you may have become accustomed to. This movement is often used to avoid the convergence of parallel lines, or as we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur.

Since his arrival to Melbourne, Eric has contributed constantly to our music industry by not only by being booked for shows with Thick as Thieves and Novel (amongst many others) but also by running his own SUPERNATURE parties, being the music director at MOTION festival, producing his own music and curating selectors for various other projects and venues including the "Weekly Selector" at Terror Twillight.

Tilt Shift has been operating in Melbourne since 2017 facilitating events at a variety of the city's most reputable late-night haunts like Revolver, Boney, Section 8 & New Guernica. In this time we have hosted & toured artists such as: Marvin & Guy, Curses, The Hacker, Tronic Youth & Timothy Clerkin


Tilt Shift endeavour to promote an environment that feels safe and welcoming, somewhere which you don’t have to wrestle with the struggles of the day. No racism, sexism, homophobia or any discriminatory attitudes will be tolerated. We also care that the music is good and genres are blurred. Put away your phone and dance with us.
