Zerotonine | 80's Synth Wave Dark Disco Live | Tilt Shift Tuesday 2nd Sept 2025

Zerotonine is the resident DJ and runs Australia's first monthly club night dedicated to synth-wave, cyberpunk, retro electro, plus all manner of niche underground electronic music: Laser Highway in Naarm (Melbourne). As a labour of love, they are dedicated to providing a unique experience for music makers and fans alike.

A veteran DJ and creator for almost two decades playing too many genres internationally and at home in Australia, they are in love with arpeggiated basslines, warm synths, and driving drums; their style is inspired by sci-fi and horror cinema, the Lamborghini Countach, boss fights, neon vectors, keytars, androids, power stance guitar solos, cosmic phenomena, bleeps, and bloops.

Zerotonine’s influences come from far and wide through their musical awakening: 90s rave, industrial metal, progressive house, nuskool breaks, tech-funk, french touch, indie dance, and psychedelia. Their enormous collection encompasses mid-tempo cyber slayers, satanic dark synth, glittery future disco, italo body music, Toulouse trancey techno, sensual synth funk, high energy left-field house, night driving outrun, chorus-laden retro wave vocal anthems, and much more from the underground.

Expect a range of sonic styles to get your feet stomping, heart pumping and hands raised throwing horns from all corners of the universe.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement: a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. As we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur

Since our debut as Tilt Shift in 2017, we facilitated events at a variety of the city's most reputable late-night haunts like Revolver, Boney, Section 8 & New Guernica. In this time we have hosted & toured artists such as: Marvin & Guy, Curses, The Hacker, Tronic Youth & Timothy Clerkin
