
Conceived by four friends on the sandy shores of California, Soul Majestic channels their sunny beach days and bonfire nights into their unique brand of reggae music. But look beyond their laid back vibe, and you’ll find they are ever pushing the boundaries of the genre with an edge that cuts through the smoky haze. Their music blends their deep commitment to roots reggae with their love of rock, hip-hop, pop and folk music. This is reggae, yet it’s original–a new twist on familiar sounds–with heartfelt messages and a high-performance band that will have you waiting for what comes next. Their signature sound features male and female singers trading melodies and soaring harmonies, laced with edgy dancehall and crowd hyping verses, epic lead guitar solos over a wide range of tight danceable beats with rock flourishes, heavy-dub interludes and memorable hooks that will captivate and move you to dance.

With a resume that includes recording with some of the greatest legends in the business (such as Sly and Robbie), sharing festival stages with the likes of Rebelution, Matisyahu, Sean Paul, and Damian Marley (to name a few), and extensive touring of North America both headlining and as a support act for Anthony B, Soul Majestic has managed to amass a worldwide fan base. They have journeyed together through many adventures and growth opportunities in their career, from a pilgrimage to Jamaica to record their second album “Until that Day” at Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Studio, to touring Canada in support of their third album, “Better World” (which received an award for Galaxy Radio Canada’s top 10 international reggae albums of the year). Through it all they have maintained a strong unity and drive to continue to do what they love most: uplifting people through music!

Since the successful crowd funding campaign that fueled the recording of their fourth album “Setting the Tone” in 2014 and the construction of their own studio and production lab, Soul Majestic has arrived at their highest peak of live performance, songwriting and musical creation yet. The recent album landed on the iTunes top reggae charts and was submitted by industry insiders for the 2015 GRAMMY Reggae Album of the Year! 

Following their #RoadToCaliRoots Spring Tour, a run of shows that included Lucidity Festival, Santa Barbara Earthday, and the 2015 California Roots Festival, they are channeling the energy and momentum they have been building into the studio, with a fifth album entitled "Pass It Around" to be released in February 2016. To promote the album they are releasing one single per month with accompanying music videos through Fall 2015 as a part of their #songamonth campaign. Growing up in both the cities of Long Beach & Carson, CA, Dread Kennedy has always been connected to music through​ ​his culture. As a Polynesian, of Samoan decent, language, music, and dance has always been three of the biggest representations of his roots​. Currently  the lead singer for a ​Southern California band, named Ital Vibes and vocalist in Josh Heinrichs, Voltron band, Dread Kennedy has​ ​since broadened his talents to become quite the all-around musician. Adding the ukulele, guitar, bass, piano, and drums to his repertoire it was only a matter of time he would​ embark on a road as a solo artist. Along with his gifted vocal, songwriting, and freestyle abilities, Dread Kennedy has a high energy​, on stage presence that will leave you with a lasting impression only wanting more.​ ​He has also gained the recognition and support from his peers and​ It is not uncommon to see artists such as Collie Buddz, Josh Heinrichs, Fortunate Youth, Tribal Seeds, and​ ​a legend like Pato Banton pull him on stage​ ​for a family jam​ ​and toasting session.​ ​Performing at major west coast festivals such as Cali Roots, One Love Cali Reggae fest, Reggae on the Mountain, and Dry Diggins, it is safe to say that Dread Kennedy was born for the stage and "Mr. Music Man" for the masses. Hirie--the frontwoman of the exhilarating pop/reggae band HIRIE--grew up a global citizen. Her father worked for the United Nations and she was born in the Philippines, spent years in Italy, before her family settled in Hawaii, which became her spiritual home. 

San Diego’s seven-piece band HIRIE is ready to offer a global spiritual uplift. Melding the balmy island touches of its singer’s beloved home—as symbolized by its moniker’s first letter, a “H” for  “Hawaii,” with that feeling of irie, the award-winning group offers a soundtrack of hope.  Now, with its masterful most recent album, Wandering Soul, brimming with invigorating female-fronted shamanistic reggae an oasis of positivity is just an album away. 

Wandering Soul’s lush construct reflects this depth. The songs feature chord sequences that have a sophisticated, tension and release accessibility. He shared with me ‘Your music is the reason I get out of bed, you’re my medicine.’ That drives me to push this movement forward to share conscious music. From prison to pandemic, Dale and the ZDubs are back in full force. Inspired by Dale’s 2017 to 2020 incarceration for a non-violent drug crime, DZD’s recent releases combine a distinct reggae influence intertwined with a hard-hitting rock style to tell raw, ridiculous, and vulnerable stories.
After the 3 year hiatus, Dale, Miles, Johan, Pat, and Julian went to work during quarantine to put instrumentation and melody behind the lyrics Dale wrote on the inside. Dale also hit up some old friends to be part of the comeback. The result is the current stream of saucy singles including “This Time” feat. The Elovaters and “Pathological” feat. Bumpin Uglies.
DZD’s absolute obsession with performing live is the catalyst of their continuously heavy tour schedule (if Dale isn’t in prison and/or the world isn’t ending). DZD has recently shared the stage with the likes of BALLHYOO!, Badfish – a tribute to Sublime, Little Stranger, Kash’d Out, and Artikal Sound System. High-energy live shows feature multi-part vocal harmonies, along with thick guitar driven melodies. And sometimes Dale gets naked.
