Reflecting the constancy and change of a solo catalogue dating from 2004, Melbourne based artist and producer Tim Guy has assumed the alias Steady Garden for an eponymous new album.
Steady Garden signals a shift away from familiar comforts into a phantasmagoria of urban unrest rippling with light, airy funk.

‘Rebel’ is the album’s debut single, its exposed vocals floating across a post-1980 landscape leaving strange shadows of Bowie’s and Byrne's new wave era. With an arrangement organised and rich like a backyard party under tennis lights, ‘Rebel’ evokes surface luxury while expressing an outsider’s ennui and desire for a deeper connection.

Pop music. We guess you could call it lo-fi, but that's not it. Sometimes it's shimmering and intricate. Intimate? Yes, but again there's more to it than that. Surreal? Dreamy? Sometimes, not always, sometimes it's really upbeat. It's difficult to explain.
Six albums in and each one has been a bright-eyed reinvention of himself, adding more chapters to a richly rewarding songbook that listeners are continuing to discover and cherish.
