This is a song from my vault I recently found and converted the 4 track cassette master to digital. I had written a violin part to accompany my acoustic, and brought my 4 track to a friend’s place and she listened to my song and recorded the violin part in one take. I’m happy to share this song for the very first time!

I was introduced to making music from age 4 or 5 when my dad took me to his band practice every week where I’d make the rounds “playing” drums, keyboards, an old upright piano, guitars and his ‘68 Fender P Bass (or 70’s MusicMan Stingray Bass). I owe a lot to the generosity and kindness of each of the band members. They were the catalyst that started me on my own musical path of discovery and creation that feeds my soul to this day. I continue to write, record, perform and cover the songs that move me (from the gypsy jazz era to present day), and I’m grateful for the chance to share it with others. In my early years I took piano lessons, regretfully I stopped them in my teens. I've always had a piano in the house and over the years have composed a number of songs (without words). What’s important to me is the melodic nature of the pieces and I wanted to share them with others. The origins of the music are probably influenced by my early classical lessons, Chopin and Schubert to name a couple. I love Liszt’s Hungarian and Rachmaninoff’s Russian styles but sadly my technical ability hampers the inclusion of their techniques.
Today’s home recording software allows many opportunities to develop compositions using other instruments to compliment the piano however, using the software has been a challenge, trying to get the “right” sound for the piano has been the most difficult part of the process. I’m slowly learning and will probably remix some of my current tracks as my experience grows.
Once I have recorded my heritage pieces, I plan to write a new selection of music predominantly piano but also experimenting with more or different instruments, watch this space!
