Back from a whirlwind tour this summer that included Glastonbury, Melt & Wilderness festivals plus a much-lauded residency at Heart in Ibiza, performing Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons’ eccentric and immersive debut album for the first time, the band unveil their third single, ‘We Will Return’.

Co-written by Ali Love, who also features on vocals, ‘We Will Return’ is remixed by Love’s own Infinity Ink project, Serge Devant and Joeski and veers the Moons back to the dancefloor.

Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons brings together a wide assortment of vocalists, collaborators and players from around the world and was joined at the production controls by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence). Taking inspiration from Lazarus's Lazpod series, Get Lost events and Day Zero festival in Mexico, the resulting album, ‘Message From the Other Side’ is a rich and ambitious project featuring musicians from LA, Egypt, Pakistan, Mozambique and Mexico’s Yucatan Symphony Orchestra.

One of the UK’s finest electronic songwriters and vocalists, Ali Love rose to fame providing vocals for The Chemical Brothers hit, "Do It Again", for their 2007 album ‘We Are the Night’. Appearing since on Columbia Records, Back Yard Recordings and co-penning the Justice single ‘Civilization’, used in the biggest Adidas commercial to date, Ali is now part of two of the biggest current dance acts; Infinity Ink and Hot Natured, the latter playing Coachella this year and scoring a place in the UK top 40 Charts.

Dubai’s superstar Raxon is coming back to Sincopat, now to the main series. This Formulate EP means a solid return having established himself in the European electronic circuit. It seems yesterday but is already two years ago when Kognito and Round 1 were released in our sister BeenTouched. It’s worth the wait because the release includes also an Affkt remix.

Formulate EP consists in two original tracks. The theme that gives the name to the pack is a powerful weapon that fuses together elements of Techno, dark synths and pure electronica getting one master piece for big rooms. Elevate is also with the two feet on the dancefloor. Raxon plays more here with classic elements putting special treatment on claps and hypnotising you with the groove and gorgeous arpeggios. Sincopat head honcho Affkt delivers a track focused on a specific synth part of the original. Marc develops and takes this piece to another state creating a stunning and special vision of Elevate. The second release on the vinyl only series of Apes Go Bananas finally drops. The label is the new imprint from Steve Bug and Clé, who together make up the production team for the releases.

As with the well-received first EP, 'All We Have ' is straight-up, no-nonsense, dancefloor-filling house tracks.

Lead cut 'All We Have' settles right into the groove with crisp and funky percussion, chitown chords and amazing vocal samples. It’s got peak time written all over it.

'She Cargo' makes its influences pretty clear via the title, and the track certainly references some of the iconic sounds of the home of house. Thick, rubbery bass lines, squiggly synths and firing percussion combine to deliver a suitable a homage to the windy city.

'Ape Parade' is built from some similar materials, but the chords are a little more lush and deep - synth strings and keys add a sense of the epic, and everything is tied together with a sick kick / snare / hat pattern. Three modern killers for the floor, infused with the spirit of classic house.

For our latest story in sound, Russian-born, classically-trained artist KatrinKa returns to her home label Chapter 24 in collaboration with the British producer, DJ, vocalist & multi-instrumentalist Thomas Gandey.

KatrinKa’s emotive, enticing and melodic grooves are a perfect fit for Gandey’s haunting vocals. The Nameless One is a bewitching follow up to 2015’s Beauty, a combination of dark languid rhythms and exotic scales. Meanwhile, How Does It Feel takes things to deeper, more techno-influenced dancefloors.
