Orchestral/Soundtrack by Tim Six

Another track about a game I knew nothing about when I first started writing. I think I definitely wrote beyond the original song.

Inspired by "Rim Elm", by Michiru Ōshima. The original song can be found here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=kT7tSr9CY…nel=BalambSqually. Ōshima's song plays in the game, Legend of Legaia, when the player character is in the starting village (called Rim Elm).

edit: I took this down about a month ago and made some tweaks - it's now being re-released under the same name as this was how I intended the track to be. I apologise for the delay, life gets in the way of my music sometimes. Less accidents, more intentional demos!

Memories of the Village

2021 update: I randomly decided to check my old profile here and found that someone hit play on this track. I still don't use this site anymore (go to my Bandcamp!) but I guess I'm finally comfortable sharing what this song was about. My grandma passed away in 2017. I didn't go to her funeral because I was too sad to leave the house. My grandmother was basically my mother. My best memories of childhood were with my grandparents. Though this isn't the type of music she liked, I didn't know how else to remember her, so I wrote this song for myself.

Remember Her

There is a story that goes along with this track, but it's mostly up to your imagination as to what's going on. If you're interested in what I had in mind... 

The music follows an afternoon of a young girl. Having a bad day, she decides to visit an old witch that lives in the forest. When she arrives, she sees that the witch is clearly busy with... "witchy" stuff. The young visitor can't help but be mesmerised by all the magical gizmos in the witch's house. Eventually, the witch finishes up her chores and brews some tea for the young visitor. As the sun sets, the girl realises that time has flown by, and that she must return home. She thanks the witch for being so friendly (and the tea), and makes her way back home.

The end? I don't know, I'm not a writer, so make up whatever ending you like.

Writing and producing this took way longer than I expected. It wasn't surprising in the end- this is one of the few tracks where I had to pretend I was playing each instrument and tweak the subtleties from there (i.e. dynamics, articulation, glissandos, etc). Easily the most difficult 2 and a half minutes I've ever produced, even if it ended up being recycled tropes. In my defence, I've always admitted to not having watched any Disney movies growing up, so hopefully it doesn't resemble anything or come off as too cliche!

Tea at the Witch's House

Some fan music dedicated to the MMOs.com team based on the 9-second long opening theme from their weekly podcasts. MMOs (Massively Multiplayer Online (Games)) have been a big inspiration for my music ever since I began composing all those years ago. While I don't play as much as I used to, I still enjoy seeing how the industry continues to grow and my memories of both old and current games are definitely a part of every song I write.
