Something Happening Somewhere‘s record output is as alluring as its name. Two years after the label’s first “SOMEWHERE” compilation releases, Nuno Dos Santos‘ imprint returns with a new chapter in the series. From spacious, down-tempo atmospherics to Detroit-infused techno, the latest edition features a wide range of unique sounds and untold stories, coming from familiar SoHaSo figures, while still living room for new faces.

Love over Entropy and Ripperton appear on “SOMEWHERE III” with their collaboration track “Saints De Glace”. They deliver a organic down-tempo groover, which slowly eases you in with a drifting melody that ebbs in and out of consciousness and glimmering pads that lure in the night air waiting to catch you off guard.

Premiere: Love Over Entropy ft. Ripperton - Saints de Glace [Something Happening Somewhere]

In Ahab EP our storytellers Hülshoff and Rheinländer bring much more than just the typical songs. Drawing inspiration from different backgrounds, the duo bends traditional music genres into metaphor and storytelling through mystical melodies. 

Among steadily added layers of sounds, the verses remain strictly instrumental with a diverse bass line, telling the story of our captain Ahab and his relentless pursuit of Moby Dick, the white whale that eventually ends his life. Steady on now, on the melodic sea, he never hesitates, on towards the rest of the story. 

Melodic "pings" ring out like incessant memories in the mind of Captain Ahab, distracting his thought processes and interrupting his ability to function. The further development of the darker tones on this EP, calls us to imagine in more detail the terrific power of the beast over the man and become much more assimilated with the captain's obsession and the preoccupation of his mind. 

Following him like his crew on the sea, industry colleagues are provided with excellent original material to work with. Alex Kaminski along with Metatext and Karhua, act as his crew on this EP, looking toward the captain of the ship, following him on this oceanic journey. In metaphor for the duo's talent and ability to influence and persuade with their music, they lead his loyal crew on a wild frenzy to conquer the nemesis, despite the warnings, and to his own deluded end.

PREMIERE: Huelshoff & Rheinlaender - Schraat (Alex Kaminski Remix)[WAYU Records]

The Berlin-based producer Niko Schwind who is known through his releases on Oliver Koletzki’s Stil vor Talent imprint created three originals tailor-made for Heimlich Musik. Combining rhythms with a focus on psychedelic synth lines and complex drum patterns. 
The title track „Modularity Theorem“ is characterized by field recordings and hypnotizing percussions and subtle vocals used wisely to underline the atmosphere of the track.
Xique-Xique strips the original down to its basic elements that are needed to create a powerful remix for various occasions.
„Tote Bienen“ appears like a lonesome rider in danger pictured by crooked guitar riffs, harmonica accents and dark synths supported by downpitched vocals. 
Cologne-based duo Ameli Paul comes up with its very own interpretation of „Tote Bienen“. The remix appears rather as a melancholic live-interpretation with additional vocals and building up breaks creating a mood perfectly fitting for early morning hours. 
„Varinha“ is built on organic drums and a soulful vocal while strings and powerful synth accents support the deepness of the track functioning as a suitable ending for the sixth release by Heimlich Musik.

Sol Selectas is excited to welcome Kora to the label with his debut 2 track release the "Caddo EP". The title Caddo is inspired by the confederacy of several Southeastern Native American tribes, and the music brings us to a late-night ceremony. All the members of the tribe are united and chant together, and through the native drums, we feel the strength of their gathering. Wahiba - co-produced by Nic Falardeau, is the story of a lone nomad wandering the desert, confronting his fears, and overcoming them with his inner spirit.  The faith in his heart guides him along his path. Powel is well known for his soothing deep productions and appears here on Sol Selectas for his second remix. He brings the Wahiba pilgrimage to even further regions of the sand dunes, blissfully carrying us into the morning sunrise with his unique and patient approach to rhythm. The artwork by Helia Jamali fuses these two spiritual journeys together into one, visualizing the native's eternal quest under a dim moonlit sky, warmed by the fires of tribal unity.
