Yoh Ah Ah is the 2nd EP from Swiss and South African producers Dandara and Hesselberg. 2 years since their debut release on Nazca Records, they have joined forces again. 2 very different songs share a few common features. Neither song fits simply into any box. Each contains a diverse landscape of riffs, textures, unexpected moments, happy sounds, darker moods and always keeping the groove alive. These artists collaborate in the true sense of the word and the end product is always unique and special.

Luzmila Carpio is a Bolivian singer, who has performed in Spanish and Quechua, and former Bolivia's ambassador to France from 2006 to 2010.
As a small child, she learned the daily songs of the Quechua and Aymara indigenous peoples that inhabit the mountains and valleys of Northern Potosí in Bolivia.
In her early teens she moved to Oruro, and started expressing herself through her songs. Once she went to a radio station and sang the national anthem of Bolivia, the only song in Spanish that she knew. Later on she was selected as the lead singer by a musical band that participated in a contest in Cochabamba. The popular songs she sang in this occasion were designed to meet the demands of the vast popular segments of the population, mostly descendants of indigenous peoples but who already lived in the cities and spoke Spanish. Afterwards, "Siway Azucena", a melody composed by her inspired by the music of Northern Potosí, spread throughout the country, the first truly indigenous song to have widespread popular success.

Contrary to the prevalent trend of modernization, she started looking deeper into the cultural and musical ways of the Andes and singing in Quechua, rather than Spanish. The main ingredient was not to please the audiences that kept growing but rather to use her music as an expression of rebellion against the predominance of western ways of cultural progress over indigenous ones, as a way to show that this so far subordinated world also had a contribution to make, and as a way to build more harmonious relationships among the peoples of the world. In this quest, she authored and coauthored a number of songs for children: "Ima sarata munanki" ("What kind of corn do you want"), "Aylluman kutiripuna" ("Let us return to the community") and many others. These songs became popular with children in rural schools.

Then she went to Paris where her musical evolution continued.

On April 21, 2006, President Evo Morales appointed Luzmila Carpio as Bolivia's ambassador to France (Mission that lasted four years, until March 31, 2010).

Man O To from the elusive producer NU is finally set to be released as a single on Crosstown Rebels. Since its inclusion on Acid Pauli’s Get Lost Compilation in 2012 the track has clocked up tens of millions of Youtube hits and now heralds in a much coveted artist album due later this year. Remix treatment comes from Parisian producer ​Pépé Bradock and live artist Be Svendsen.

A nomad of modern times, ​NU​ has travelled the continents with his diverse music to unearth his imitable style. Repres​ented heavily in ​Man O To, where instruments amalgamate with electronic production to become solid rhythms. An extra spark come from its lyrics, outtakes from an old Persian poem from the well known poet Rumi, who speaks of true happiness in love here performed by Ghazal Shakeri from an original recording made by renowned French composer Armand Amar.

Julien Auger aka ​Pépé Bradock​ is a widely respected producer best known for his anthemic releases on French label Kif Recordings which are still sampled heavily to this day. As a DJ, he has spun in almost every major club in the world and is known for his versatile, and mesmerising style. Bradock conjures a trippy remix and dub version of ​Man O To and fitting ode to the original.

Be Svendsen​ aka Lasse Bruhn Svendsen broke through into the international scene in 2014 with a series of productions and enchanting live performances at some of the most avant garde places to play on the earth, such as BOOM festival, Fusion, Burning Man, Symbiosis, Rainbow Serpent and AfrikaBurn. ​“‘Man O To’ is a track that has touched th​ e hearts of many, including my own,’ Svendsen explained.​ ‘Being asked to add a new chapter to its story is both an honor and my greatest challenge to date.”

This EP is inspired by the cultural heritage which the Argentines and Chileans seek to perpetuate. Ulises has developed cultural and emotional bonds towards the natives, whose struggles he feels and shares. Struggles for their own traditions, their own lands and their own existence. Thanks to the resistance of cultures like the Mapuche we can now enjoy traditional melodies and instruments, such as kultrungs, charangos and quenas, that Ulises skilfully merges with an electronic timber palette to achieve the deep organic sound that we can appreciate in this EP. 
Uña pays homage to the acclaimed quena player Uña Ramos, from the mountainous Jujuy province. Pewünguen derives from a chant in Mapudungun, the Mapuche language, that celebrates the rebirth of nature in spring. Here, the artist adopts the same chant metaphorically, to wish the rebirth of the Mapuches. 
Musician by formation, Ulises plays guitar, keyboard, and drums. Such multi-instrumental skills provide him with a broad range of sounds to blend and wedge into the electronic beat. Talking about the aesthetic he craves, Ulises stated “I want to have the possibility to choose any timber from any source I feel the music needs. No limits!” …and limitless is his desire to explore the vastness of sounds, to experiment new combinations. 
Besides the original tracks, the EP comprises four gems by Carrot Green, Steffen Kirchoff, Arutani, Coss & Iorie, who remixed Ulises’ productions.

Historia:

Cierto día (que ya olvidé cual era), a cierta hora (que ya olvidé cual era) la vi por primera vez. Cabello corto (muy corto), ojos profundos, semblante de tranquilidad. Miraba el móvil afuera de un salón de preparatoria. Me puse a un lado de ella. Me miró con aquellos ojos que penetran el alma y me dijo su nombre: Aquel que jamás podré olvidar. Recuerdo (aunque no quiera) cada letra, cada modo, cada tono que conforma el conjuro que supone su nombre. 

La Maga representa todo aquello que quieres, pero que no puedes tener. 

En menos de seis meses tomó una carretera que la llevó a kilómetros de mí. Un día me desperté de aquel sueño y solo quedaban vestigios de una mujer que parecía nunca haber existido, le seguí el rastro hasta aquella ciudad interminable, aquel Leon furioso y hambriento que reclamaba nuestros cuerpos. La seguí dos veces solo darme cuenta que nada valía la pena.

Recuerdo, solo fragmentos, tu cabello volando con el viento, tu sonrisa espontánea. A lo lejos, aquella ciudad sumergida en la melancolía…

Nunca serás más Maga que aquel atardecer en dónde mirábamos la TV, consumidos por el silencio de lo irremediable. A veces te pienso, y todo se vuelve oscuro, como si se tratase de un conjuro mágico.

Jamás serás más Maga que aquel día que te vi entrar al club y por fin entendí el mandamiento: “Santificaras las fiestas”

Recuerdo… solo fragmentos… de aquella noche oscura… nunca serás más Maga que cuando desapareciste sin dejar rastro alguno, y en mi cabeza, solo el vago rumor de una mujer de piel morena…
