Deep delves into inventive sound design and the peripheries between functional and non-functional musics. With texture and timbre in the forefront, SPECTRAL SHOCK is a platform for experimentation, unleashing a concrète collage of subversive sound that hybridizes DJing, mashing up and live processing. Without being restricted to a genre, guests from different backgrounds showcase their unique vision of sound that possesses an explorative and inventive spirit, and which in its own way contributes to the gradual transmutation of music on a larger scale.

5. SHALLOW - DEEP

We go about our daily lives without giving it much thought. In the morning, we wake up to the alarm on our smartphones, turn on the tap, wash our faces with the water that comes out, and brush our teeth. We eat breakfast heated in the microwave, oven, or on the stove, and then we take the train or drive to work or school.

If we don't pay attention, the day goes by without us feeling anything special. But this is not the norm. We are just standing on top of the layers of history that our predecessors have gradually accumulated through their wisdom and effort. And we are only part of the layer that the next generation and the generation after that will stand on.

This work imitates the accumulation of such invisible history in sound. The sounds don't build up, just five mundane five-minute drones, but if you pay attention, you'll notice that they change little by little. I believe that to observe this is to see the invisible history and to get to the essence of things.

今回のアルバムの曲の多くは2019年から2022年に作りました。なるべくアコースティックな楽器を使用しました、ギターのような音の多くはウクレレです。これらの曲には演奏を合わせる一定のリズムがないことがあるので、その代わりに音のコントラストのような物を意識しました。いつも的確なアドバイスをしてくれるShimmering Moods Recordsのオーナー、ポールのおかげでアルバムを作ることができました。

ΨΥΧΟΤΕΚ (@psyxotek) is the audiovisual project of Panagiotis Tomaras that encapsulates the nostalgic hues of experimental cinema, fusing them with synthwave themes, 90’s jungle sound and sonic gestures of the underground techno scene. 
Panagiotis Tomaras began his music career in 2013 performing worldwide as a line-up member of the legendary electronic group Clock DVA. Since 2017 has created the projects Ηχοτοπία (@ixotopia), Κυματική Αθηνών (@kymaticathens), Quasigroup and Kymatropika.
Tomaras has released 4 LP’s and 2 EP’s under the record labels Inner Ear and Phormix Athens and also participated on the Clock DVA EP release "Clock 2" under the Anterior Research Media Comm label.

ΨΥΧΟΤΕΚ είναι το οπτικοακουστικό πρότζεκτ του Παναγιώτη Τομαρά, που συμπυκνώνει τις νοσταλγικές αποχρώσεις του πειραματικού κινηματογράφου, συνδυάζοντάς τις με synthwave, τον jungle ήχο των 90's και τις ηχητικές χειρονομίες της techno σκηνής.
