Confidential Recipe debuts on Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects with the deep, tracky techno of the ‘What You Think EP’. 

Heading straight to the club is the titular ‘What You Think’, with 909 kits pulsating alongside a variety of considered samples and visceral effects, followed by ‘Drill’, a pummeling yet subdued onslaught of FM tones and crisp hi-hats. 

‘Grain’ drives delayed vocal chops to the centre of the brain, as modulating synths flicker around relentless drum patterns. Hypnotic textures and smooth, fluttery pads take charge on ‘See You’ before ‘Body (Detroit Feeling Mix)’ adds a quirky flair to the release with its Dance Mania inspired samples, melody, and stabs.

Matt Edwards aka Radio Slave displays his knack for A&R by recruiting the Venezuela born, Colombia based Confidential Recipe, who has delivered a dose of high quality, heads-down techno artillery for the hard-hitting sister label to Rekids.

Kiman opens proceedings with the self titled EP 'Cassiopeia' - A track that starts with a warm glow building to an ethereal theme. Accompanied by beautiful vocals & infectious chords, the laidback drums and smooth breakdown, Kiman's cool downtempo vibes works its magic
'Reversable' - the 2nd original track from the Italian, utilizes a deep groove as the foundation, underpinned by smooth synth chords that gradually ease their way to the summit. Unified by a deep kick drum and dusky atmospheric emotion, the composition climaxes by adding recurrent percussive elements and soft soaked melodies that come together to create a structured sphere of sonic satisfaction.

On Remix duties we welcome Minorah - a clinical young talent to emerge in the scene of late, he has enjoyed steady releases on Labo T & Sinners. His 'rework' of Cassiopeia is a musical journey, unified by a warm kick drum and atmospheric emotion, the track is a concoction of warm, deep bass and grooves, swirling pads, textured layers and stunning effects.

Morttagua brings the hypnotic underground progressive “Asteromorph”.

The Asteromorphs are fictional alien species from the sci-fi book “All Tomorrow”. They were a post human species that evolved from the Spacers.  They expanded in the universe by building smaller sub-arks and colonized stellar systems to build a new empire of man, but this time they didn't colonize any planets and only lingered in the outer realms of star systems, silently watching their primitive relatives.

Morttagua was inspired by the obscure appearance and the spiritual evolution of the Asteromorphs to produce a hypnotic progressive journey that has both the dark and enlightened sides of the species.  With a super dark atmosphere and fx work, Morttagua starts “Asteromorphs” with a journey through underground grooves, that until we reach the breakdown, where an introspective and emotional melody riff is introduced to bring its listener into bliss. Simply timeless!

After the huge success of “Trepidation”, a track that still has huge support from the label boss Morttagua in his live sets, the Cypriot duo bring now a massive 3 tracker EP in “Hyperion” .  

“Hyperion”, “Bubbles” and “Kronos” are three Progressive tracks that have lots of characteristics in common and can complete each other perfectly on the same dj set. “Hyperion” has an infectious pluck riff together with a very deep groove and obscure atmospheres, “Bubbles” bri ngs lots of distorted synths for a total hypnotic state on the dance floor while “Kronos”, the last track of the ep,  brings solid peak time bass line grooves with amazing harmonies. Mathias Kaden returns to Rekids with four-track EP ‘Control Your Mind’, featuring a remix from Marcel Dettmann.

Previously appearing on Rekids in 2019 with his ‘Liberate Drums’ EP, Mathias Kaden makes his second appearance on Radio Slave aka Matt Edwards’ label with four original tracks of razor sharp material, as well as a remix from Berghain resident Dettmann.

‘Control Your Mind’ opens with the impeccably produced title track, an electro flecked roller. Featuring hypnotic synth work and subtle automated inflections, the cut effortlessly glides, peppered with the occasional titular vocal refrain from Sven Väth puncturing the groove. Shifting into 4/4 territory is ‘Conviction’, a restrained but stunningly effective track that makes full use of memorable off-beat synth stabs and shimmering 909 percussion to constantly drive the track forward.

On the flip, Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann turns up the heat with his remix of ‘Control Your Mind’. Filtering the vocals, the MDR and BAD MANNERS boss also delivers a resonant bassline that works in tandem with knocking percussion, as creeping pads morph and evolve over the duration of the track, creating a trippy and propulsive banger.

Classic dub techno aesthetics are front and centre in ‘Substance’, a track destined for the golden hours between late at night and early in the morning, while finishing the package in fine style, the digital only ‘Anticipation’ showcases Kaden’s skill in crafting a killer peak time track, adding a welcome bonus of yet another weapon for USBs worldwide.
