About Jonas Saalbach:

Spirited emotion is the protagonist in Jonas Saalbach’s brand of electronic dance music. Deeply uplifting and body-moving, he has released EPs and long players with Einmusika, Bedrock and his own imprint Radikon. Hailing from a small town in southern Germany, Jonas moved to Berlin at a young age to pursue the dream of bringing his musical vision to the world stage. 

A decade later, he has performed at hundreds of locations on five continents, the world-renowned Zamna and Fusion festivals and a cliff in the Norwegian fjords for a sensational performance broadcasted to more than 13 millionsof viewers. As a producer, Jonas is exceptionally prolific. His sophisticated, hardware-based style gives unusual and particular sounds a new life, morphing them into timeless dancefloor anthems filled with emotion and percussive energy. 

In 2018, Jonas founded electronic music imprint Radikon as a platform for like-minded artists. Four years later some of the big players of the Melodic House and Techno scene releasing on Radikon and Jonas presented his fourth studio album ‚Headlights‘.His energetic live performance and singular brand of Melodic House and Techno has enthralled listeners and club-goers around the globe. As a producer, DJ, live act and label owner, he will remain a driving force in electronic music for years to come.

Serge Devant returns to one of his favoured label’s with his White Groove EP , delivering a pair of deep, textured tracks that’ll vitalise any rigid dancefloor. Archie Hamilton makes his Crosstown Rebels debut and supplies a punchy, tripped-out revision of lead track, White Groove .

White Groove is an absorbing mix of rumbling sub bass, soft, textured percussion, and ethereal pads. Loose percussion and a tough kick carve out the initial vibe on C onnect To Server . A hypnotising, low-riding synth is the final layer and helps generate even more groove into this peak time roller.

Serge Devant hails from Brooklyn, New York and released his seminal track Fearing Love in 2015 on Emerald City. Since then he’s been championed by Damian Lazarus, a firm favourite on both Crosstown Rebels and Rebellion, whilst also receiving plaudits for his releases on Knee Deep In Sound and Circus Recordings. Moscow Records, Moss.Co and Arkityp owner Archie Hamilton is one of the UK’s most promising talents, consistently releasing high quality house and techno on the likes of Get Physical, Fuse London, 2020 Vision, Fear of Flying among others.

Steyoyoke Black’s sound scientist, Nick Devon, presents his brand new experiment brought to light in the form of these four original tracks, the “Innerverse” EP. Once again his journey through the infinite universe of tech-made sonorities finds a shiny path.

The title track “Innerverse” couldn’t have been named better as it seems to be an incursion through Nick’s laboured sound identity. A bright, sophisticated affair where a waterfall of carefully chosen elements slowly pours upon us until the moment we are completely surrounded by a misty soundscape where tension and peace of mind harmonically coexist.

The odyssey goes on, reaching slightly obscure lands as we see that trail of light fading away and get in to the world of “Sithian”, the second track. As darkness begins to take over, we reach a brake where synthetic brushstrokes gently caress our ears, just before we’re hardly hit by the lower frequencies, then the bass is in, lights are out and it’s all about the Techno pace.

Then you finally land on a binary territory where you’re invited to experience two equally powerful versions of the final track “Eternity”, which comes in regular and acid version. Nick steers some beautiful chord melodies as he discreetly conducts an impressive dramatic evolution that fades in and takes control of the mood. INTERVIEW

1. Most exciting club moment?
“I have had very good moments from all these years that I have been playing around the world. One of my best moments was one of my gigs in Stereo Montreal, it just was amazing. I started to play at 2 am and I finished my set at 2 pm on the next day. It was incredible 12 hours and a night that I will never forget.“
 
2. How did you learn producing?
“Well, the truth is that in almost everything I am self-taught. I have never attended any production or master classes. I just pay attention to the productions I like and try to sound as good as they sound and of course many many hours spent in the studio. The truth is that for a long time that I have been producing I never finished learning and any other producer even if it is a new one, can have something that makes me think.”
 
3. Favorite track at the moment/all time?
“My favorite track of all the time is ‘Age Of Love (Jam & Spoon Mix)’. I think that even nowadays the sounds of this track are very up to date. And my favorite track at the moment is ‘Adriatique – Ray (Original Mix)’.”
 
4. Dream collab?
“It’s difficult to say a single name because in this moment there are great producers out there. I can say some of the biggest names in the industry like Tale Of Us but actually there are other great producers like ARTBAT I would like to have a collab with.”
 
5. Favorite DJ Setup?”
“I have played with all the DJs set up that you can imagine, but at the moment my preferable set up consists of Tracktor, 2 contollers X1, a F1 controller and 2 Pionner 2000 Nexus CDJs linked by USB with the lap top.”
 
6. What keeps you going?
“After so many years playing and producing what keeps me going is the love that I feel for the music. My studio is like my home, playing my tracks in front of a crowd and seeing that the people like my music, I feel a great sensation that I would not replace it for anything.”
 
7. What makes you laugh?
“I am a kind of person who laughs much for a lot of reasons.”
 
8. You in 10 years?
“I like to live in the present, that’s why who I will be in 10 years is a mystery for me. “
 
9. What do you listen to besides electronic music?
“In the last years I don’t really have a spare time to listen to other music besides electronic music. Practically I am in the studio all the day producing and when I am not I listen to promos or demos for my label (Beatfreak Recordings). But I have always liked the chill out when I rest at home.”
 
10. What distinguishes you and your music from other artists?
“I have always said that I have a sound a little bit characteristic and evolving over the years. But something that always presents my productions is the strong rhythm and the punch line.”
 
11. How would you describe your sound?
“Since ever my sound is characterized melodic techno. Since I started like D-Formation in 2003 I had several fusions from progressive tribal to kind of melodic techno, but what you can certainly notice in my tracks are the melody niches.”
 
12. Who will considerably give direction to the scene soon?
“It’s difficult for only one person to change the direction of the scene, I think that this is a team work and for example this can be Tale Of Us with their great concept of their imprint Afterlife Records and the style of the music that the label release.”
 
13. DAW?
“Actually my studio is small, I don’t need a big one with many hardware devices, just my Mac, my speakers Genelec 80/50, Sub 37, Virus and a few things more. With this DAW I achieve the sound I want to.”
 
14. Where would you love to play live?
“One of the festivals where I would love to play live is Awakenings.”
