As one of the new generation DJs in Taipei, Andy Chiu was inspired by the electronic music scene and the record stores he visited in Berlin - which has eventually led him to open a brand new chapter for the local electronic scene in Taipei since 2015.

He first became the resident DJ at the legendary club Korner and infused Trippy Techno, Melancholic Techno, Raw Energetic Acid and Dark Ambient into his layering, sophisticated sets. Soon he got the attention amongst those club nights for his uniquely atmospheric, mechanically danceable sound. He later joined the iconic label Smoke Machine and stepped into the family of Organik Festival, and then started to leave traces all around the globe, including Boiler Room for Spectrum Festival in Taipei, OHM and Arena Club in Berlin, Rural Festival in Tokyo, Vurt in Seoul, Tag in Chengdu, Oil Club in Shenzhen, 宀 in Hong Kong and Savage in Hanoi.

As pandemic silenced the world and made everyone lost in time, Andy found his inner peace by diving into the 90’s to look for more inspirations, digging in genres such as Trance newage and Progressive, shaping his new sound by engaging with these genres and merging them in his own way. He is now the resident DJ at Pawnshop, the fresh voice of the Taipei underground nightlife. As the original member of the Techno-oriented Smoke Machine along with Diskonnected, he is also in charge of “Hylo Series by Smoke Machine”, a new series that brings forward a brighter sound mixing with House and Trance - to correspond with the post-pandemic era with hopes and lights.

Francisca Urbano is at the forefront of a new generation rethinking the dance music. Assuming house and techno as two pillars, it is in this sense that she composes an openness to new directions standing out for her versatility when it comes to choose music. An active member from the collectives O GRAVE (Viseu) and Capsula (Lisbon), the artist definitely assumes an important key on the national underground Portuguese circuit from what we can expect for the future.

Vand’s sets are explorations into story-telling hypnotica with a crossover from ambient to dance floor material. With productions released on Nyame Records a double EP collaboration with Bas Dobbelaer on SoHaSo and a solo appearance on F-on’s Alpenglühen. Besides making music and being a deejay he also explored to present himself as a live act in recent years. With adebut at the notable Mostra Festival and a 3-hour live improvisation at La Nature Festival with fellow roommates Shoal and Queniv. He is now mostly affiliated to the ISOTOOP collective transmitting their unique sonic identity.
