As a Director, he’s a creative visionary who always thinks outside the box. Artistic Director credits include The Musical Theatre Repertory Company, The Playwrights Festival, and The Directors Festival. Directing credits include The Cherry Orchard at The Lyric Theatre in Boston and most recently, Thoroughly Modern Millie at Fullerton College. His vision for new, innovative, and unconventional concepts in musical theatre have garnered him steady employment.

Acting roles include Javert (Les Misérables), Trofimov (The Cherry Orchard), and Tommy (The Who’s Tommy). Credits including Goodspeed Opera House, Papermill Playhouse, American Repertory Theatre, North Shore Music Theater, Utah Shakespeare Festival, and The Berkshire Theater Festival.

As an Electric Violinist, he’s a truly unique pioneer. He has been at the forefront of popularizing the violin to international audiences. Featured credits include The Boston Pops Orchestra and The Pacific Symphony Orchestra. With his intense energy, talents, and stage presence, Tim’s unique style challenges traditional ideas about the types of music that can be played with a violin. He continues to perform at live concerts, corporate events, and weddings all over the globe. 

When not directing or performing, he’s a cutting-edge college educator. He currently serves as head of Fullerton College’s Musical Theatre program, leading one of the most innovative training institution in the country. Previous faculty positions include The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Brandeis University, American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles. 

A multi-talented and versatile artist with equal strengths in theatre and music, he’s an innovator and collaborator on every team. He inspires others to be their best selves: as artists, collaborators, and humans. 

Mr. Espinosa is a member of The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), Actors’ Equity Association (AEA), The Society of American Fight Directors, KCACTF Region VIII Respondent, and Musical Theater Educators Alliance. Under the leadership of Anne Bogart and Tina Landau, Timothy has also served as company member for the SITI Company. He is based in Orange County, CA with his wife, Ashlee Espinosa.
