A birthday tribute to the Goddess Aaliyah, who's music continues to touch the soul of millions ~ in celebration of the golden years of Hip-Hop and R&B.

Born in Brooklyn but raised in Detroit, she first gained recognition at the age of 10, when she appeared on the television show Star Search and performed in concert alongside Gladys Knight. At the age of 12, Aaliyah signed with Jive Records and her uncle Barry Hankerson's Blackground Records. Hankerson introduced her to R. Kelly, who became her mentor, as well as lead songwriter and producer of her debut album, Age Ain't Nothing but a Number. The album sold three million copies in the United States and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). After allegations of an illegal marriage with Kelly, Aaliyah ended her contract with Jive and signed with Atlantic Records.

Aaliyah worked with record producers Timbaland and Missy Elliott for her second album, One in a Million, which sold three million copies in the United States and more than eight million copies worldwide. In 2000, Aaliyah appeared in her first film, Romeo Must Die. She contributed to the film's soundtrack, which spawned the single "Try Again". The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 solely on airplay, making Aaliyah the first artist in Billboard history to achieve this goal. After completing Romeo Must Die, Aaliyah filmed her role in Queen of the Damned, and released, in 2001, her self-titled third and final studio album, which topped the Billboard 200.

On August 25, 2001, Aaliyah died at the age of 22 in an airplane accident in the Bahamas, when the overloaded aircraft she was traveling in crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all nine on board. The pilot was later found to have traces of cocaine and alcohol in his body and was not qualified to fly the aircraft designated for the flight. Aaliyah's family later filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the aircraft's operator, Blackhawk International Airways, which was settled out of court. In the decades since her death, Aaliyah's music has continued to achieve commercial success, aided by several posthumous releases. She has sold 8.1 million albums in the US and an estimated 24 to 32 million albums worldwide. Billboard lists her as the tenth most successful female R&B artist of the past 25 years, and the 27th most successful in history. Her accolades include three American Music Awards and two MTV VMAs, along with five Grammy Award nominations. 

Aaliyah Dana Haughton was a singer and actress. She has been credited for helping to redefine contemporary R&B, pop and hip hop, earning her the nicknames the "Princess of R&B" and "Queen of Urban Pop"

Super excited to announce the second single off Shaman's Dream and Geometrae's collaborative album "Home". 

"Night Bloom" is written by Shaman's Dream & Geometrae. The lyrics & flute playing is by Cagil Cokan, a Turkish singer and multi-instrumentalist from a Sufi family. Percussions added by Jason O'Keefe, and guitar by Devdev. 

This is the 2nd release of “Home”, a collaborative album between Shaman’s Dream and Geometrae, featuring multi-instrumentalists, vocalists, and cutting edge electronic production. 

The story is told through the intention of each song, and woven together for the listener to observe each element through the body as a felt experience. 

The album begins with the sunrise, as each day begins for us here. The seed is then planted with intentions to grow and flourish, to reach the highest potential as a blooming flower. The 5 elements are explored: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether. The 5 elements are needs to transform the seed into a flower, for the fullest expression to be witnessed. Once the flower has bloomed, we welcome the moon, to tap into our psychic senses and merge into the dream world once again, to begin the cycle renewed, to return Home.

ETHNO is releasing his debut EP “Musicology Vol. 1” on Gravitas Recordings September 1st.  This EP is the beginning of the artistic gates opening for ETHNO, sitting on hours of original music and ready to show the world this first chapter.  Jeffrey Franca (ETHNO) is the drummer and musical director for Thievery Corporation and has a full lifetime of touring and influences under his belt.  His unique approach on global bass music incorporates all of these influences from around the world into a special blend of sounds.  We are excited for what is next for this legend and his project ETHNO.

The Journey opens the EP with panning female vocal chants, flutes and synths filling the air and painting a beautiful soundscape.  It drops into flowing bass and beautiful stabby synths, epicly building into a larger drop incorporating a new lead and a flow beat. Awake again (ft. Celestine) slows down the tempo and starts with lush string instruments and beautiful vocals that immediately teleport us to another world.  Building on top with catchy electronic synth leads and a catchy chorus, this one can put anyone in a good mood. Exhale has a beautiful downtempo intro and slowly brings in electronic leads and similar sounds to the previous tracks, maintaining the same vibe yet showing a different side to the project.  Leaf Water opens with beautiful analog synth stabs and vocal chops, echoing around the soundscape and immediately enchanting the listener. Slowly building and layering new ideas, this meditative beat brings in heavier bright synths that brings us back to the old school electronic music sound.  My Personality (ft. Born-I) switches it up and brings a higher energy groove and brings in iconic rapper Born-I.  Focusing more on the beat and rap than the synths and other ideas, while still incorporating the sound and style that ETHNO has created for this release.  A perfect end to the release that leaves us wanting more.

About Feminine Medicine™
The Feminine Medicine™ project is a series of collaborative albums and stage shows I launched in 2015. Every song on the album is a collaboration between me and another female artist. 

I set out to bring music to the dance floor that showcases the "feminine" aspect through many expressions and faces of the feminine. The music expresses a harmony of both masculine and feminine frequencies that is both danceable and sacred co-created with some of my favorite female artists. I believe this music shows how "feminine" melodic textures and vocals can integrate with traditionally "masculine" bass frequencies to create songs that are harmonically transcendent of any existing genre.   

I have been writing, producing and performing the Feminine Medicine™ music for the last 5 years, collaborating with over 30 female musicians, vocalists, and dancers to showcase stage shows at major festivals including Lucidity Festival, Beloved Festival, and Enchanted Forest Festival. 

Artists showcased on Feminine Medicine™ music so far include: 
Heather Christie, Imagika Om, Liquid Love Drops, Ixchel Prisma, Eden Amadora, Amma Li Grace of Entheo, Tara Divina. 

Volume 1 was released Feb 2017. A remix album was released in 2018 featuring remixes from Govinda, Living Light, Luke Mandala, Ra So, Spoken Bird, Wu Wei, Joe Muscatello, and Pattern Disrupt.

Do not listen while driving. Use headphones. Find a quiet, peaceful place. Take a comfortable position. Breathe deeply. "Ground yourself, be in connection with Mother Earth. Embrace the area of the Sacred Heart (just below the physical heart), stay in this space throughout the meditation.
Turn on the intention: Connection to the Soul
Listen to my voice. Recall a feeling of gratitude. Maintain this feeling and connection with Mother Earth by remaining in the space of the Holy Heart throughout all meditation /contemplation.
