Rumour has it in IDM circles that this is the best thing I've done. I tend to agree actually... well from the purist perspective anyway. Cristian Vogel released it on his Mosquito imprint. It ended up being the last release on Mosquito as their distributor folded about a week before the release. There were very few copies pressed, and most of these disappeared with the distributor. So it ended up being one of those lost releases.

I turned left out of my flat, sun in my eye hands in pockets striding down the road kicking crisp packets and cans, dodging filth and skipping over cracks in the slabs. The late spring breeze carried the fresh damp scent of recent city rainfall, the zing of ozone tinted rust with exhaust fumes; gusts tussled through my hair and funnelled their way on up the street behind me rustling garbage and the deep green of rhododendron bushes yet to flower bright pink and deep purple. Turning left, hitting my stride I barrelled down the high street, dodging humans weaving in and out of shops, ambulating workers, chattering mothers, unpredictable excursions of children. The eccentric pauses of the old. Busses heaved free of inertia in clouds of noise whilst beggars crouched silent in vacant spaces bright eyes counting footsteps, their numbers flourishing over time. Moving downtown, passing the sleaze of sex workers distributing companionship and relief sunlight broke out across the sky. I exited long shadows cast by multi-storey commercial properties and entered the square, the fountain spilling crystal waters, momentary rainbows cascading across the dirty concrete. 
Moscow native Art Crime creates beautiful, propulsive emotionally reflective club music. Two E.P.s have currently met the world, ‘Never Look Back’ liberated via Willie Burns’ W.T. Records in the early part of last year, and the second, ‘Obsession’ has just found freedom through London’s Phonica Records. A third E.P. is paused for imminent deliverance via the mighty Créme Organisation. Mr Crime’s mix for us today pretty much satiates the full spectrum of sonic desire, from introspective effervescent house to sleazy minimal and onwards via surging dub techno to the outer regions of electronic deviation. Full spectrum dance music to permeate your auditory preceptors.

Tim Exile@Krake Festival 2012-08-11 (Suicide Circus Berlin)

This summer I went out to record a few fountains and water-installations around town (they are quite few), and I found one that I liked. It looked kinda corny with five thin beams of water shooting up and back into the shallow fountain. The weather was sunny and hot. I recorded about an hour using my home-made mic and minidisc. During this time I laid right next to the fountain, mentally figuring out what would suit the splashing sounds. This is what I came up with.

Debut Album: I Sleep. At Waking, Track 02 - Stalker

Electronic producer Flako resides in London and has previously called Berlin and Chile home, but the lead track from his forthcoming Eclosure 12″ sounds as if it emerged from across the pond– specifically, from the burbling wonkiness of Los Angeles’ Flying Lotus-fronted Brainfeeder beat crew. Oftentimes, the sound that comes from Brainfeeder artists can resemble something of a locked groove, but “Honey Drips” opens up beautifully, dissolving into a soup of keyboard runs and tangled vocals. Brendan Angelides is a Los Angeles-based electronic music producer who records and performs live as Eskmo. His multi-genre compositions have been featured on influential labels like Ninja Tune, Warp Records and Planet Mu. While Angelides’ tracks encompass a wide range of electronic styles, he avoids classifications. Much like his previous releases, ‘Language’ is reflective and constantly exploring new terrain. The album cover, which was created by Trek Matthews for the project, shows the Egyptian god Thoth who is the master of writing, magic, science and healing. Above him are the merging of sun and moon and Ouroboros. The themes within the tracks range from the Self to relationship, fear, nostalgia and the sonic interpretation of not folding as expressed in “World of Dread.” The ‘Language’ EP oozes classic Eskmo textures while diving into emotive rushes, minimally avante-pop melodies and chunky dance aesthetics turned on their head.

His 2010 self-titeld full-length, released on Ninja Tune, was described by Future Sequence as “Create(ing) his own sound.” and BBC Music noted the album as “Electrifyingly enveloping…Mind-melting invention.” Ninja Tune recording artist and film composer Amon Tobin hailed his work as “some of the best production I’ve heard in recent times” in 2009. Shortly thereafter, the pair teamed up to release a collaborative project under the name ESKAMON on Eskmo’s own record label, Ancestor, in early 2010. The ‘Language’ EP is the latest Eskmo release on Ancestor since his collaboration with Tobin.
