The original score for Pretty Thing — a dark, erotic thriller directed by Justin Kelly (King Cobra, JT LeRoy), starring Alicia Silverstone and Karl Glusman — explores the power dynamics of desire, control, and submission.
Sonically centered on processed piano, modular synthesizers, and layered vocals, the score blends a haunting melodic sensibility with brooding electronic textures. Analog synthesis collides with tape manipulation and intimate acoustic elements to mirror the film’s examination of shifting identities, dominance, and vulnerability.
Drawing loose influence from the melodic economy of Angelo Badalamenti and David Shire, and the textural worlds of Mica Levi and Jóhann Jóhannsson, the sound remains its own: intimate, fractured, and psychologically charged.
This release represents the full film score as experienced in the film — an unsettling yet beautiful hybrid of tension, atmosphere, and emotional undercurrents.

Pretty Thing releases in theaters July 4, 2025 via Shout! Studios.
