“Yamba”, the collaborative track from Mose and Yemanjo featuring Malian singer Mariam Koné, receives diverse reworks from three of the most respected producers of afro house music today.

The original combines emotive chords, rhythmic guitar and balafon melodies and shimmering percussion with Koné’s powerful voice to create a powerful fusion of West African traditional music with cutting-edge electronics.

OVEOUS @oveous is a NYC-based DJ, producer and poet making waves globally for his electrifying sets combining afro house with live vocals and poetry.  His remix pushes the drums and vocals front and center, creating a tribal version made for the dance floor.  Koné’s repeating call-and-response chorus brings a trance-like quality, while the amapiano-style bassline and relentless percussion supply an irresistible groove.

Taken together, the “Yamba” remix EP presents three distinct revisions of the original, each reflecting the diverse backgrounds of the artists and their approach. The central message of Koné’s words—an invitation to come together to dance and celebrate in brotherhood—shines through in each remix, and the collection is equally well suited for the club, festival stage, or ecstatic dance floor.
