For the 14th release we are glad to welcome in our WOOD a new gem from Italy whose name is "Faraday". Characterized by ethereal and progressive sounds his debut Ep "Esperia" is a full emotional grooving journey into deep and magic moments of freedom which are distributed in two originals weapons. On remix duties we have on board masters name such as Th Moy and Fractal Architect who took vibes of "Esperia" and delivered us two great remixes characterised by strong grooves and deep melodies surrounded by magical and colourful landscapes. Stripped Down Records is a brand new label that will focus on raw grooves. Founded by Claudio Ricci and Christian and Monika Zorn, the first release comes from Ricci and features essential remixes from Timo Maas & Basti Grub, Kintar and Metodi Hristov.
Claudio Ricci has nearly 20 years experience in dance music with his music taking cues from all genres and coming on labels like Compost and MoBack. As a DJ he is just as diverse and always leans on more organic sounds and rich melodies. His timeless single here is a great way to kick off the new label.
Entitled ‘Warschauer Strasse’, it is seven excellently expansive minutes of twisted synths that bring real tension to deep house drums. Cosmic keys take the track into intergalactic realms and as the pads percolate they continue to bring raw energy to the groove.
The first remix comes from long time techno heavyweight and Rockets & Ponies boss Timo Maas and the prolific and inventive Basti Grub. Their singular remix speeds up the original and layers in fluttering toms and percussive sounds as well as broad, groaning synths and the distant sound of a bustling city at rush hour. It swells and sinks back a number of times to keep you locked and along for a most thrilling ride.

Poker Flat label boss Steve Bug connects with one of Spain’s most inspirational producers and DJs - Uner. The results, predictably, are dancefloor gold. 
Mantis on the Moon slips into its groove from the very start, an insistent beat matched with swingy percussion. The track takes its time but slowly builds into a Minimal / Deep Tech monster over the course of the seven and a half minutes. 
The Swiss pair Animal Trainer pick up the challenge with their remix - a shimmering, melodic rework with a huge drop take that will inspire some chaotic moments on many dancefloors.

Dimensions is a compilation series focused on bringing together unique artists and select tracks, which resonate with each other beyond just the sound of the music. It is a platform to create forward thinking releases on which artists in the XYZ family, and newcomers with shared values, come together to write their chapter of a collective story.

The second instalment of the Dimensions welcomes a set of diverse characters into the XYZ fold. The trio of groove-laden tracks nudges the listener towards the darker and colder months ahead, yet retains a warm fall aura as well. While releasing music from the likes of titans Hernan Cattaneo, Soul Button, and Darin Epsilon, Hicky & Kalo also dedicate themselves to unearthing special untapped talent from across the globe. "Originally from just outside Luton, FNP began his musical journey making drum and bass. While at university in Nottingham, his work started to get him attention in all the right places leading to sets supporting world renowned acts such as Enei, S.P.Y, Netsky, Newham Generals & loads more.. All this work & network of people eventually led to him being lined up for a music industry job a few years down the line. At the same time, his record label Slinkiemusic picked up some notable fans including Teki Latex, Avalon Emerson, Ross From Friends, Loxy & Resound & Palace.

Now focusing on his own projects, the London producers music has gained support from Thump Magazine, Clash, Datatransmission and Complex with many more following suit. His remixes with artists across the world have also received overwhelming support from Spotify, bringing his streams to over 300k in the past year, as well as features on their influential Techno State playlist. The London production enigma, has never been one to shy away from experimenting with different genres. previous releases have explored Disco, Synthwave, Techno and Bass music. Working out of his studio in Hackney Wick, his releases in 2019 have pushed the envelope for 303 style acid basslines. "We Are The Gods' was heavily supported by Spotify as well as a number of tastemaker blogs. The follow-ups "No Real Perspective" and “'Acid on Wick Lane', went on to support from Dummy Magazine and The Classy Issue. He finished the release cycle with “Breathe” and the whole catalogue has racked up over 300k streams on Spotify. After a short hiatus, the prolific producer returned with the synth-heavy anthem ‘Interlinked’, which was again heavily supported by Spotify who included it in their ‘Groove Theory’ and ‘Laser Disco’ Playlists. On a personal achievement, an idol of his in Deadmau5 also supported the track on his personal gaming playlist. 

In 2020 - FNP returns with a brand new EP. Exploring elements of ambient, techno and synthwave it’s a project that explores all the sounds in his musical palette. The project ebbs and flows between dark and ambient textures, to groove rich club bangers. The highlight being the title track, which showcases the artists undeniable production talent layering acid textures and analogue chords. On the new EP, FNP states:

The EP is named after some really dodgy posters you see everywhere in the East London area offering part-time work, with a full-time wage. It’s pretty obvious what they’re advertising but I just find them funny because it’s so obvious what they’re recruiting for. The tracks showcase all the many sides of my musical personality, plenty of hard techno but also an ambient element with some nu-disco thrown in for good measure. "

Timo Maas is a storyteller. For him, it's never about back-to-back bangers or brainless hits, but 
about crafting, building, teasing and eventually pleasing. From hefty concrete funk to stripped-
back and brain-altering techno via psychedelic synths stronger than any drug, he knows exactly 
what to play and when. He has done so at every major club and festival on the planet from 
Tomorrowland to Kazantip, Creamfields to Coachella, while for 17 years during the golden years 
of Ibiza's Circoloco party at DC10 he was a regular guest, which is a testament to the fact that 
he has always stayed ahead of the times. 
Two-time Grammy Award-nominated Timo has made every shade of electronic music from 
famous remixes of Azzido Da Bass and Depeche Mode, leftfield reworks of Afro-Peruvian group 
Novalima and Indonesian all-female heavy metal band Voice of Baceprot via work with pop 
greats like Paul McCartney, Madonna and Placebo. But his pure love of techno keeps him 
coming back to his most famous sound. It's all united by his ability to craft weighty bass and 
rolling drums that lock you in. To dream up unusual breakdowns, freaky vocal treatments and 
deftly designed details that sound like nothing else. He has released on majors like Warner and 
Virgin and underground staples like Stripped Down Records, Cocoon, Mobilee, Tenampa and 
Last Night On Earth. But whatever he does and wherever he does it, Timo is always 
investigating new musical grounds.
