Corman Olivier - playing as Cho Panflutist - was born on 18 June 1967 in Durban, South Africa. While at school he sang in several choirs, including the Drakensberg Boys' Choir in 1977/78 and Freestate Youth Choir in 1985. He also studied the trumpet as music instrument. He finished school at the famous GREY COLLEGE in Bloemfontein. In 1986 he was selected to form part of the SADF Church Choir and Concert Group, known as The Canaries, where he met ROBERTO (Robert Snyman), who is a great panflute player himself, and Corman fell in love with this instrument. In those days vinyl was king, and he bought all LP records of Gheorge Zamfir ( https://www.facebook.com/GheorgheZamfirOfficial ), the undisputed king of the panflute. He got his first panflute end of 1986 and started to study the instrument, just playing for himself and family. 

He started his career as a sound engineer at the SABC (South African Broadcast Corporation) and worked in several studios as well as different disciplines of sound engineering. The panflute was played at weddings, but he kept a low profile, until he one day met a gent with the name of Wentzel du Plessis, a vocalist and performer himself, and picked up the courage to do more live concerts, including playing in restaurants.

In 2012 he met a gentleman named HENDRIK BRITS ( https://www.facebook.com/hendrikbrits.suheda.info?fref=ts ), an awesome player of this instrument, from PIPE FANTASIES, and placed his order for two branded panflutes, a thirty-one pipe and twenty-two pipe panflute. Through Hendrik's Facebook page he also befriended another excellent South African panflutist, RYAN WALT ( https://www.facebook.com/ryan.walt.1?fref=ts ), who has played this instrument for over 20 years, and is a household name, with plenty CD recordings behind his name. Between them he have learned such a lot, always giving tips on how to improve, which is HIGHLY appreciated by him.

The music on this site was recorded with a SAMSON CO2 microphone, onto a Fostex 16 track digital recorder in his lounge at home, using his knowledge of sound engineering practised during the previous 20 years. 

He is currently registered at UNISA (Universty of South Africa) as a student studying a law degree (LLB), and working as a Human Resources Practitioner for ChilliHR. 

He is married to Karen Olivier and has two children, Werner and Wilmare.
