Sometimes I release acapellas and sometimes people make tunes with them. And sometimes people make re-edits of tunes I've done. Here's a collection of tracks that somehow involve "a little bit of wisdom".

* A MiniBomb is a a concept I've been playing with for the last year. Each MiniBomb is in the same key and tempo and is very short (i.e. not a complete song, just a build-up and drop). They're useful for making interesting DJ mixes where you simply alter the order of bombs to make new remixes. I've been working in the 6A key but I'd like to have MiniBombs for every key eventually. If you like this idea and want to get involved in building a MiniBomb library, get in touch. When we get enough, we can release a library of tiny tunes.

Back to the Bass Kicks IV (Original Production DJ Mix) (FREE DOWNLOAD)

Riding home from the Shambhala Music Festival a few years ago, <a href="http://soundcloud.com/root-sellers">Dash</a> came up with the concept for this track - calling upon the audience to put in their earplugs so we can all keep hearing the music. When we got home, we recorded the track and debuted it at the opening of Shambhala 2012. It's been a staple in my set ever since and will probably continue to get dropped for years to come.

Rise to the Night

I've been trying out Mozart AI (a new Agentic DAW that builds stems in the context of your track) and they ran a little contest for fun. We were given a trap-style beat and had about 3 hours to make a tune. All the sounds were generated by Mozart AI and then brought into Ableton for a final arrangement and mixdown. This was my submission.

A collaboration between Charlie Beale (UK) and Timothy Wisdom (Canada). Charlie played the guitar and arranged the tune. Timothy stepped in to do drums, bass and engineering. Keep the Funk Alive!

The Lollidrop - Timothy Wisdom & The Outlier

Awhile back, A Skillz made this awesome remix of Ann Robinson's "You Did It" funk tune - it's been used by countless breaks DJs, most notably in Fat Boy Slim's "Gangsta Trippin". As a production challenge, I tried to make my own version by hunting down the original samples. I made a few left turns and came out with something that starts off like Adam's tune and then turns into something completely different. But when that infectious horn sample finally drops half way through this beast, every audience I've ever played it for screams in glorious delight - so I reckon it's a winner. I hope your audiences have as much fun as mine when this rolls out over the speakers. And thanks Mr A Skillz for your awesome inspiration, and to Adam3 for the amazing cover artwork.

Loopback Brother (with Basement Freaks)

When <a href="http://soundcloud.com/nick-thayer">Nick Thayer</a> released his <a href="http://www.loopmasters.com/product/details/954">Loopmasters Sample Pack</a>, I spent a night writing this tune, limiting myself to using only sounds from the pack. I cut up lots of his loops and even resampled some of his sounds to make new ones....eventually ending up with this tasty little banger. Everything in here originated from Nick's sample pack so if you like the sounds, go grab the pack. I first met Stickybuds because a promoter had the insight to pair us together in a freestyle DJ set one afternoon at a festival in BC. Shortly afterwards, Sticky gave me his latest tune, "Bass Now (What 'cha Gonna Do)" and I played it religiously in my DJ sets for ages. Now Stickybuds has gone on to tour the world and represent Canada with his badass flavours of funk. And I've had the chance to take one of my favourite bass drops and give it a twist of my own.
