Tim Penner is an artist dedicated to the intricacies of electronic music production and DJing as a means of storytelling through sound. He weaves dark textures with driving percussion, and sweeping soundscapes to create a unique expression, fuelled by his love and passion for music. He has been involved in nearly every aspect of the music for the past 20 years and has accumulated a wealth of detailed experience.

His highly successful releases and DJ podcasts are a testament to his talent and attention to detail as he bends melody, percussion, and bass to his will. His passion for electronic music shines brightly into everything he does and has taken him around the world to play for some of the best clubs and audiences.

Aspiring DJ/Producer? My monthly musical exploration creating continually evolving playlists monthly when once completed hopefully to mix. Idea is playlist constantly evolving till month end. Hopefully something creative for you to follow. Primarily Deep & Progressive House, Ambient & Downtempo right up to the most Uplifting Psy-Trance. All rigid EDM genres have convoluted into so many sub-genres that calling it a "Scene" is very much an understatement. Even song structure is no longer rigid or even core to one genre. Genre blending is even expected. My motto: "EDM That Ascends Any Peaks or Descends To The Most Distant Deep"

I just want to share the joy of it all. I mean music! I have loved music my whole life and it has remained the one constant throughout my life. I bought my first record, a 45 RPM by The Beatles called "Twist & Shout" when I was 7 years old. My father use to be a drummer whose claim to fame was to play for The Everly Brothers when they played in Canada. The 90's brought a revival in electronic dance music and developed into the 'rave culture' that was keeping me young. I really enjoyed sharing a younger generation's enthusiasm for life. Thank God it propelled the music and is so exciting & infectious. Today my tastes in music is no longer simply defined as age of this or that. A person's age, let alone allowing ones ego to pin a music on them from any decade really is silly. We seem to recognize that all music can create excitement regardless of the BPM. You either are kind of in the groove or your not. Period. 

I got involved with this EDM scene and the new sound right from the very, very early beginnings. It's a long story what brought me to this music and the scene that followed. Discovering the music was the real driver. Once I discovered the music and started going regularly to a club a friend owned I was amazed at how DJ/Producers had progressed over the decades since I was last involved decades before. I recognized right from the start that the new EDM music scene was different. The Artists/DJs/Producers were from all over the world. It brought all of the world together which is something that religion, business and politics had certainly failed to do! I could see the potential to overcome our cultural differences. Electronic music wasn't about lyrics back then. Language didn't interfere with understanding or appreciating it. The rave scene back then started in Europe and spread like a wild fire.

 Now it is truly worldwide and certainly not underground. Young people have created a diverse boundary-less musical appreciation. All these cultural influences and the associated music are constantly influencing/evolving change which each shift creating new excitement.

If it doesn't take itself too seriously it should continue to shimmer & shine. If you just don't quite get it......keep coming back...something will eventaully click for sure. 
What started as music in clubs with dirty sticky floors and little raves in old abandoned warehouses is now playing in massive festivals with 8 stages performing all at once. 80,000 fans in attendance from all corners of the earth in more than one place at the same time it seems.

But for me now as always it's about the music. I really mean the music. ENJOY!

All celebrate the artists contributing to this collage of music. Not sure if all the fans are aware of it but we're making this world into one where cultural diversity is truly appreciated and adapted. We have succeeded where all others have failed. The Beatles and their fans changed the world back when I was very young. This time it's not just the artists and fans but a world wide culturally diverse phenomena of different people together changing it up once again. I am very fortunate to just be able enjoy the music and be a part of it. So get out there and get some! YUP!
