Gale Force Wind in Bunker MKH8040

The Scene on Saint Marc is a piece is based on the street activity outside my window, in three movements. The first movement, “Animals”, examines the movement of people and their interactions with one another. “Storm”, the second movement, reminds the listener of the experience of rain hitting the fabric of umbrellas and rain jackets. The third and final movement, “Night”, submerges an old Victorian-style neighborhood into the atmosphere of cheap bars, dimly lit streets, and a thoroughfare to a highway overpass. The piece ends with night surrendering itself to sleep.
